We are on the morn of the first set of statistics and tips of the season, and I thought I would take this chance to explain what happens in the first 8-10 weeks of the season. With no real form guide, early tips are based on form late on last season and personal analysis of a teams chances, using our insight into strength of the transfers teams have made, how they have looked in pre-season (it can gives no indicators occasionally) and other variants similar as those. After the first 8-10 games you get a better idea of who is going to be challenging, and who is going to struggle – although sometimes teams pick up form after 15/20 games, such as Reading when they got promoted two seasons ago, who lost very few in the 2nd half and shot from about 15th to the top 2, but that is a rarity.
Despite it being so early, leagues in Belgium and Holland are starting this weekend, and leagues such as Russia, Romania, Ukraine, Poland and Czech Republic starting several weeks ago. You may have seen there is some European Qualifying going on – we tend to steer clear of that as teams like Utrecht and Lech Poznan have been beaten by some very unknown teams, something that has shocked us here at Accutipster. Similarly to Pre-season games – a big no-no! Too many chances of teams being under-strength and using games more for fitness than results. Odds are often very poor, and not worth the risk, I have learnt this through experience when I was younger!
There are 22 games in our odds on category, with some great odds – Metalist Kharkiv are 8/15 to be Zorya, and Sparta Prague are 8/13 to beat FC Brno – so plenty of value early on. There are 29 games in our positive odds category – 18 in England and 11 in European Leagues, so take a look at our statistics later today as well as tips which should be up by around 2pm
Good luck for the weekends’ games, whether you bet or not!
