Euro 2016 Tips // 27.06.16

Just the one tip yesterday, and it won easily – Germany -1 Goal Handicap @ 5/4, and the score was 3-0 to the Germans!

That means we are at 3/3 in the accumulator, with tonight’s game to go!

Last time I changed my mind on a game, it was the Wales bet for the daily tips, and over 1.5 team goals lost, so tonight I’m sticking with the England bet posted in the accumulator:

England vs Iceland: England Win + Under 2.5 Goals @ 7/4 (2000 KO, Monday)

England have a lot to prove – after blowing the easy route to glory, they must do things the hard way. Iceland are the first hurdle, defensively sound and they frustrated Portugal and Austria for long periods. With England likely to revert to a full strength team, added to the fact that they are to face the same things that they did in the group stage – I believe Jamie Vardy might be best used as an impact sub. Iceland will setup to frustrate, and with England struggling to break down all three group teams, it could be a case of a 1 goal victory. An early goal should draw Iceland into attacking, but I can’t see that happening based on what I saw in the first few games.

A key part for England will be the fullbacks – against Slovakia both Clyne and Bertrand did not look too good offensively, but Walker and Rose are at the top of their games for both Spurs and England and will return to the lineup. Rooney’s forward passing is also going to be key against an Iceland defence setting out to frustrate and counter. Set pieces – again, very important. Delivery has to be better than it has been!

Win + Under 2.5 Goals has since changed in price on Bet365, from 8/5 to 7/4 – so has gone out in price a little. Iceland have conceded in every game so far, so they are not impregnable. England have struggled, but now it’s a case of win or lose, drawing isn’t an option!

There isn’t anything I really fancy in the Spain-Italy game – it’s one of those that could go either way, and be low or high scoring. Italy will set out to stifle any Spanish forays forward – the BBC (Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini) have been brilliant so far. They don’t look to sharp attacking wise, but still topped their group after beating Belgium. Insigne could play a part today as he was dangerous against Ireland, and unlucky not to score!

Best of luck
