A case of hit and miss last night – St Polten won 2-0 with great ease – so the 6/5 bet of -1 Goal landed nicely. In the Russian game, Voronezh had a pretty poor game and eventually lost 1-0, when their rival also lost – so a chance missed for them and my double ruined too.
Today – another double, football is still good at the moment so there is plenty on offer around the globe. At this stage of the season it gets tricky – a lot of teams have little to play for, so it’s a case of picking out the games that do have something left in them:
Grodig vs Salzburg: Salzburg -1 Goal Handicap @ 11/8 (Austrian Bundesliga, 1930 KO)
With Salzburg champions – and Grodig as good as relegated, I think this will make for an interesting game. Grodig need 2 wins and hope that others slip up – so they will be chasing the game against the best team in the league. With that in mind, I believe they will get picked off. Credit where credit is due – they did spawn a couple of wins against both Vienna sides in their last 5 games, but this will certainly be a step too far.
Although Salzburg have won the league, it’s not been their best season. We might see a few younger players start, but either way they will be looking to impress so they get more game time next season. Salzburg’s winning mentality shouldn’t let up today. 4-2 and 3-0 wins against them previously this season – and as mentioned with Grodig desperate for a win, the likes of Soriano and Lazaro should pick them off.
Trelleborgs vs Orgyte: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 6/4 (Swedish Superettan, 1800 KO)
Last season, Trelleborgs were my go-to team – in the 3rd tier they tore it up and smashed most teams most weeks. Orgryte had to hang onto their tails – and eventually got promoted behind them. This season the tables have turned, Trelleborgs have started badly, sitting 3rd bottom with one goal in 6 games, while Orgryte are 3rd and looking good.
This one has nothing to do with form – but the record between the two teams. They have been in the same league for the last 2 years, and have results of 2-1, 2-1, 4-2 and 2-1. Trelleborgs have had a few tough opponents, but have beaten AFC United, the top side at the moment. Orgryte have had an easier ride, but with both being good teams, and having a track record of goals – I believe both will bring their A game and we shall have a cracker on our hands!
This pays 5/1 as a double!
Best of luck
