Football Tips // 21.02.16

Hi all

After a very rubbish month or so, yesterday picked up a little with Kieron hitting 4/6 on his tips overall, I managed 2/3 with Burnley and Monaco winning 2-0 and 3-1 for handicaps to win, but Peterborough failed to score which would have given me 3/3 and an 8/1 treble. Amit did not have such a good first day, with a lot of low scoring affairs in his matches, and most ending with 2 goals.

For today – I am going with a Corner Acca again – last Sunday I was one corner off, with 3 wins and then Bayern only managed 5 rather than the 6 needed. Today’s 4 fold pays 20/1 thanks to a big 8/5 priced tip that boosts it nicely:

Malaga vs Real Madrid: Real Madrid -1 Corner Handicap @ 8/5 (La Liga, 1500 KO)

This is usually a tense game as Malaga are hard to beat at home, and Real are struggling away from home at the moment. My thinking behind this is that with Real struggling, they often pile on the pressure and force corners. In their last 10 games they have won 8 of the 10 games on corners, and 7 of which have been by at least -1, if not a lot more – with 69 corners compared with their oppositions 44. They might well lose or draw today, but will have much of the ball and for me get a nice amount of corners.

Feyenoord vs Roda: Over 10.5 Corners @ 1/1 (Dutch Eredivisie, 1545 KO)

This looks another good bet, with Feyenoord the first of my 3 wins last Sunday. In their last 10 games they have had a total of 99 corners, but hit over 10.5 on 6 occasions. Roda on the other hand concede a load to the better teams, with double figures for the likes of Ajax, PSV and Vitesse meaning they have conceded 87 in their 10 away games. These two have met 3 times this season, twice in the cup – and with 18, 18 and 13 corners respectively, you see why I’m backing this.

Granada vs Valencia: Valencia Over 4.5 Corners @ 11/10 (La Liga, 1715 KO – NAP)

This is easily my NAP. Valencia have struggled since Neville took over, but won 6-0 midweek and 3-0 in their last league game. Even with such poor form, they have racked up a 4.8 corner per game average away from home in their last 10 games (scored 5+ corners in 6/10), while Granada sit bottom with 14 losses in 24 games, and a 5.2 corner per game concede rate (conceded 5+ in 6/10). These two have also just met twice in the cup and once in the league this season, with Valencia getting 5, 5 and 11 corners.

Lille vs Lyon: Lyon Over 4.5 Corners @ 1/1 (Ligue 1, 2000 KO)

This is usually a close game, and with Lyon struggling away – they like some of the above teams often compensate by getting plenty of corners. Not quite as many as I’d hoped, but in their last 10 away games they have hit over 4.5 on 5 occasions. Lille in their last 10 home games concede between 4 and 6 per game on average, but with Lyon’s dangerous forward line I can see them pressing Lille a’plenty. In their last 4 meetings, the scores on corners have ended 7-1, 5-0, 3-1 and 7-6 in favour of Lyon. Good omen.

Like mentioned – 20/1 this weekend! You may notice 3 of the 4 are away, but stronger sides overall. This often translates into corners as sometimes these home sides are hard to break down, and the games are close. I honestly think all 3 of them could not win today and still win these corner bets! Feyenoord on the other hand pound corners past teams, with them winning the first of my four last week.

Best of luck
