Funny week last week, three out of four selections had won by half time leaving just Preston to score at Peterborough in the second half. Given Peterborough’s conceded record it was seemingly meant to be! but alas Preston failed and so it is. I would imagine though at half time needing only a goal the Cash out values were pretty decent so fingers crossed there was money to be made for most! Onto this week and back to normality with the FA Cup behind us. Four selections across the Premier League and Championship.

‘At a Glance’

Chelsea V Everton @ 4/5

Bournemouth V Norwich @ EVENS

Rotherham V QPR @ 4/5

Ipswich V Preston @ 23/20

Chelsea V Everton @ 4/5 (15:00 KO, Barclays Premier League)

Two good teams for this market this year, Chelsea have been far from the powerhouse we’ve come to know but have scored on 28 occasions and conceded on 31. Everton are entertaining to watch playing some really positive football which shows in the fact they’ve found the net 36 times and conceded 29. Lukaku back at his old club playing the role of the one who got away and will be keen to continue his blistering form, Chelsea have goal scorers all over the park and will be desperate to start a much needed come back with a statement against a very good side. Chelsea have scored in five of their last six  matches in the Premier league conceding in four. Everton have also conceded in five of their last six and conceded in four.

Bournemouth V Norwich @ EVENS (15:00 KO, Barclays Premier League)

Two struggling teams in this one 15th V 16th, For their poor league positions though both sides have proven to play some great football and are often more than involved against the bigger sides. Bournemouth have notched 23 goals so far this season whilst conceding 37, Norwich have scored 24 and conceded 35. As if often the case with teams in their position both teams have conceded considerably more than they have scored and seemingly struggle at the back, But It’s a game that both clubs will feel confident they can win and gain three points which will take them that little bit further from the drop zone. In the BTTS table for the premier league Norwich are joint 2nd (with Everton!)  with 62% and Bournemouth sit 5th with 57%. Two teams who will be desperate for a win who lack solid defences well worth a punt at Even money!

Rotherham V QPR @ 4/5 (15:00 KO, English Championship)

Rotherham have been kind to me since starting these selections, and its unsurprising when you look at their record of 32 goals scored and 44 conceded, QPR are a little more reserved with 31 scored and 34 conceded. Rotherham don’t concern me too much in this market their record pretty much speaks for itself, QPR may be slightly more of a concern although since the appointment of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in December they seem to play a slightly different brand of football. Hasselbaink has been in charge for seven games now in the Championship to which QPR have scored in six which are the six most recent, more interestingly all six of those games finished BTTS. So under Hasselbaink it would seem QPR are much more inclined to carve out real opportunities whilst still being prone to defensive lapses.

Ipswich V Preston @ 23/20 (15:00 KO, English Championship)

After Being the only team to let me down last week I’m going to take the bull by the horns and select Preston again!. Ipswich have scored 36 goals this term and conceded 31, Scoring in four of their last six and conceding in the same amount. Preston have scored 23 and conceded 23, scoring in five of their last six in the championship and conceded in the same amount. Preston are a side that play a brand of football that perhaps isn’t the greatest to watch but is effective, they have managed to find a bit of form in recent matches where they seem to find the net and grind out results considering they were promoted this season they have managed to climb into 13th position which is certainly admirable!. Ipswich find themselves sitting 5th in the league and feeling confident after they came from behind against Leeds midweek, they do majority of their scoring at home  and will feel confident they can break down a tough Preston defence. 23/20 is a pretty solid price.

Above selections as a four fold pays at around 13/1

Good Luck As Always!
