Belatedly posting this – I have cut down on the huge accumulators recently as there has not been appropriate value, but this weekend I like what I see! I have earmarked 6 games over the next 2 days to formulate a 103/1 acca. The first two are from my acca for the weekend, and the other four from around Europe:
St Johnstone vs Hearts: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/8 (1500 KO – SPL, Saturday)
Usually I avoid the SPL like the plague! However, this weekend there is particular value in this fixture.
St Johnstone have scored in 8/9 home games – failing only against Celtic. They have also conceded in all 9, giving a total of 8/9 on BTTS and 5/9 on BTTS + Over 2.5. Looking back over the last 15 games overall – 12 BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals! Incredible record!
Hearts are not quite as good on this market, with 6/11 away from home, but given their previous 2 meetings (once this season and once at the start of 2014) have been 4-3 and 3-3, and the scoring record of both teams this season, it gives me huge confidence!
Oostende vs Standard Liege: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/10 (1700 KO – Belgian Pro League, Sunday)
Oostende have been the surprise package this season, while Liege have also been surprisingly poor, but recently have picked up their form a little of late with an unbeaten run spanning over 5 games.
I’ll keep it simple – BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals in 5/9 at home for Oostende, winning 7/9, while Liege have a record of 6/9 for this market.
Recent results have also given a good feeling on this game – the last three have been 2-1, 3-2 and 5-3 to Oostende.
Newcastle vs Aston Villa: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 13/10 (1730 KO, Premier League – Saturday)
As a fan of Newcastle I can tell you they tend to up performances against the big teams – and wins against Spurs and Liverpool kind of prove that. They are looking more of a team, and with an experienced forward lineup of Cisse and De Jong, with impact subs Perez and Mitrovic, you can expect them to score at some point against a weak Villa defence. They will be on a high, but us fans know that a Villa defeat would be no shock. At home, 4/8 on this market, 5/9 including Cups.
Villa on the other hand are improving gradually, and were dangerous against Arsenal last weekend. They also have a similar record away, 5/9 on this market inc Cup games. They have bags of pace, and in Gestede, Sinclair and Adama Traore, they should trouble a slow Newcastle back four (bar Mbemba). Dummett and Coloccini could well be turned inside out by the end of this one!
Benfica B vs Porto B: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/10 (1600 KO, Portuguese Segunda – Saturday)
This is a big Derby, despite it being B teams! Benfica are very good at home while Porto are dodgy away from home.
At home, 5 BTTS + Over 2.5’s in the last 7 for Benfica, while Porto have 4 in their last 10 away, but top the table and are in good form, whomping Lisbon II’s 4-0 the other day. Last 4 meets have ended 3-0, 4-1, 3-2 and 3-1, three wins for Benfica. Could be done in the first half!
NEC vs Feyenoord: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 21/20 (1330 KO, Dutch Eredivisie, 1330 KO – Sunday)
Feyenoord are the favourites for this one, but away from home have kept one clean sheet in 8, also failing to score just once. 6 BTTS, and 4 of those going over 2.5 as well. NEC on the other hand are very good at home so far this season with 5 wins, 2 draws and a loss vs Ajax in their 8 games. Only 2 BTTS + Over 2.5’s, but with Feyenoord’s record I fancy both to score and for this to end high scoring!
The last 5 meetings have ended 3-3, 5-1, 3-0, 2-3 and 5-1 – and two of those in the past 18 months. Means nothing really, but historically a high scoring fixture and given the form of both, a real possibility!
Bordeaux vs Marseille: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 7/5 (2000 KO, Ligue 1 – Sunday)
Lastly, a big French game! These two are very good home or away in the case of where they are playing tomorrow – Marseille have won 5 on the trott and scored a tonne at the same time. Bordeaux on the other hand have suffered a little with the Europa League which has snowballed into their league form – but I still fancy them to score at home.
Marseille on the other hand have scored in 2’s, 3’s and 4’s recently and will have great confidence coming into this game, while also conceding a few. 2 vs Bourg Peronnas, 2 vs Liberec in the EL and in general around 5 BTTS + Over 2.5’s in their last 10 away games. This will either be 0-0 or about 3-2. Can’t see a lot in-between!
Pays around 120/1 with Bet365, while others prices may vary as they rise or fall.
Best of luck – and let’s hope for an early Xmas present here!
