After a decent week so far, last night was dreadful. The NAP was one goal off, with Astra not finding the net and AZ winning 2-0, the DNB was 1-1 so voided, and Southampton were terrible, while Zilina had good chances but could not find the net.
Today looks decent, with three picks:
1. Shakhtar Donetsk-Metalurg Zaporozhye BTTS + Ov/Und 2.5 Goals: No + Over 2.5 @ 13/10 (Ukrainian PL, 1700 KO – NAP)
Shakhtar usually win this fixture, and win well. The last four home games have all been win to nil’s, while the last four overall have been 2-0, 2-0, 3-0 and 4-0. They have made it through to the Champions League again this season, by the skin of their teeth in a 3-2 aggregate win over Rapid Vienna – so will be in a good frame of mind. Zaporozhye are generally dreadful and only in the PL because others have either gone bankrupt or refused to take promotion from the 2nd division. Shakhtar should hammer them – I fancy them to score at least three and not concede, so BTTS + Over/Under 2.5: No + Over 2.5 @ 13/10 is the bet!
2. Emmen Win @ 6/5 vs Telstar (1900 KO, Dutch Erste)
Emmen have begun the season well – 2 wins from 4, while Telstar have lost 2 and drawn 2. If you look at the last three meetings – 3 wins for Emmen, 4-1, 3-1 and 4-0. I very much like this one, Shakhtar offered slightly better value for the NAP so this has to settle for 2nd best.
3. Bolton Over 5.5 Corners @ 6/5 vs Blackburn (1945 KO, Championship)
In Bolton’s four games so far, they have had a total of 28 corners – 8, 13, 4 and 3 – the latter two against teams who are likely to challenge for promotion this season. In last season’s two meetings, they have 7 and 9 respectively. This is a big derby up North – it should be a fiery affair, and none come more fiery that Neil Lennon! Over 11 corners @ 1/1 wasn’t quite good enough value for me, so gone with this bet.
The double (1 + 2) pays around 4/1, while the treble pays a good 10/1.
Best of luck
