Football Tips // Premier League: Round 35

With a mixture of Premier League and FA Cup action this weekend, it’s all a bit fragmented. 4 games Saturday, 2 Sunday and Spurs vs WBA on Monday night. There is also the fact that both Liverpool and Man City have European games in the week, which could mean rested players like last time. There are also some good looking games where I fancy a couple of away teams to triumph – and at good odds!

Aston Villa vs Southampton: Southampton -1 Goal Handicap @ 5/4 (1500 KO, Saturday – NAP)

Villa are relegated – people have quit the board and the owner has held his hands up to screwing the club up. Gabby Agbonlahor has been suspended again, and in general the club has imploded. The focus is completely away from the playing side of things. Southampton on the other hand are still in the hunt for a top 6 place and 3 points here would do them the world of good. Jose Fonte could miss out, but with a full set of forwards to pick from they are nearly back to full strength. Austin, Pelle, Rodriguez, Mane, Tadic – I really see Southampton having a good game and winning by 2-3 goals.

Man City vs Stoke: BTTS @ 11/10 (1245 KO, Saturday)

This is one of the games I was referring to at the top. Man City are playing Real Madrid in the week, and even with them struggling to get a top four spot – I still think their minds will be on Madrid. There could be a host of changes, and even if there isn’t – mentally they might not be all there. Stoke have a good record against Man City, winning 2-0 in their last meeting and winning another 1-0 in the last 2 seasons. City won 4-1 last February, but with Bojan, Shaqiri, Arnautovic and Afellay involved – I see them scoring! BTTS is a fantastic price of 11/10!

Sunderland vs Arsenal: Arsenal -1 Goal Asian Handicap @ 6/5 (1400 KO, Sunday)

Both of these are very inconsistent, Sunderland have lost 4 of their last 10, while Arsenal are brilliant one week and then poor the next – but I really think Arsenal will continue their fine form against Sunderland. They have won 4 of their last 5 – scorelines of 3-1, 3-1, 2-0 and 4-1. Both are still fighting for something, and with Sanchez on fire, Ozil looking good and a full strength side – I don’t see Sunderland pushing Arsenal too much. This market provides a good price with a safety net. A 1 goal win – void, 2 goal win – win!

As a treble – this pays around 9/1.

My preferred double is Arsenal -1 Goal Asian Handicap @ 6/5 + Southampton -1 Goal Handicap @ 5/4 – a 4/1 bet!

Best of luck
