Goalscorer Tips // Wednesday

Some promising midweek games this week including the continuation of the African Cup of Nations as well as some more from the Bundesliga! Definitely some value here!

DR Congo v Ivory Coast

After dismantling Congo 4-2, you can’t discount DR Congo entirely but the Ivory Coast are a formidable opponent and arguably one of the strong favourites overall! On the goalscorer front, Dieumerci Mbokani A/T @ 13/5 is a good price considering he grabbed two goals in the 4-2 win but I can’t see anything other than a win for the Ivory Coast. Even more so when you consider they dismantled pre-tournament favourites Algeria 3-1 with Wilfried Bony netting twice. Against weaker opposition, I fancy him to score at least once and @ 11/10, there’s some good value too!

Borussia Dortmund v Augsburg

Dortmund have had a turbulent season, performing well in the Champions League but just haven’t been able to replicate that in the league! However, after a 0-0 draw upon returning form the Winter Break against a decent Leverkusen side, they could be back on track. Standing in there way are a decent Augsburg side. There is some decent value in Ciro Immobile or Marco Reus A/T – Both @ Evens. I like both of these players a lot and although Immobile will probably be presented with more chances as the target man up front, Reus is a world-class player and can produce something from nothing at any moment! For Augsburg, Raul Bobadilla A/T @ 11/5 is a great price! He scored late in Augsburg’s win at the weekend and if presented with a chance, could very well take it but against a strong Dortmund defence with the likes of Hummels, chances may be few and far between!

Monaco v Bastia

In the French League Cup, I really fancy Monaco who are taking on a Bastia side that have not won away in seven games! Obviously in the cup, squad rotation is a possibility as ever so be aware of that! However, rotation was kept to a minimum in Monaco’s last round win, 2-0 against Guingamp! Dimitar Berbatov opened the scoring in that game in the 8th minute and I fancy him to score A/T here @ 11/10. I doubt that he’ll start but I also like Anthony Martial as well @ 6/4 but double check the lineup for that one!

Real Madrid v Sevilla

As per usual, there is little value on practically any Madrid player who plays further forward than the back four! But to get any real value out of this game, you have to take a bit of a risk whether that be on the 2+ market or in this case, looking to Madrid’s defence! I’d chance Sergio Ramos A/T @ 21/10. As for Sevilla, if any chances fall their way then you have to think that Carlos Bacca will be most likely to get to them and @ 23/10, that’s not a bad price but you’d expect Madrid to dominate!

Napoli v Inter

In the Coppa Italia, odds on Higuain still remain below Evens unfortunately so I’m going to go for a 7/2 FGS. For Inter, Mauro Icardi A/T @ 21/10. He scored at the weekend even in defeat and has been Inter’s star man this season! I expect this one to be close with Napoli edging it but full of wasted chances!

Double of the Day

Wilfried Bony A/T and Dimitar Berbatov A/T @ 3/1

Best of Luck,
