Working things a little different this midweek – no longer so keen on Tips that are spread over 3 days – for me 2 days maximum otherwise it drags out and you lose interest, especially if you only do one bet and it goes down on the 1st or 2nd day. This preview, as the headline suggests – is just for today – 8 games, with all the stats:
1. Barcelona Win @ 6/5 vs Man City
Barca have won all of their last 5 games away from home, and despite a loss to Malaga on the weekend, you get the feeling this game was a distraction for Luis Enrique’s side. They often bring their A game to the Champions League. Man City have only won 2 of their last 5 home games – and the game on the weekend against Newcastle was misleading – although City were good, Newcastle were abject.
2. Juventus Win @ 11/1o vs Dortmund
Juventus, like Barcelona – have won 5 of their last 5 home games, scoring a hefty batch of goals. Dortmund have won 3/5 since the end of their winter break – but to me look fragile at the back – conceded 2 to the worst team in the league on Friday night. Juve are starting to let a few goals in at home, in 5 of those wins they have conceded in 3 of them. Dortmund are top heavy – the likes of Reus, Aubameyang and Ramos at the one end, and like mentioned weak back four and several not fully fit.
3. Burton Win @ 23/20 vs Accrington
Burton are in great form – 4 wins in the last 5 games – and although only 2/5 (with 3 draws) away from home we still like them for the win. Accrington have only won 1/5 at home, and 2/5 overall – with a couple of hefty losses in there. Hasselbaink’s men should take the 3 points in my eyes.
4. Torquay Win @ 21/20 vs Lincoln
Torquay are in decent home form – 2 wins and a draw out of 5 games but those 5 games were against mainly very tough games. Lincoln on the other hand are great at home, but away they are awful – the last 5 games has brought 1 win and 4 losses, with 14 goals conceded and just three scored.
5. Blackburn-Norwich Over 3.5 Match Goals @ 2/1
Norwich are in great form – 4 wins on the spin, with plenty of goals scored. Blackburn have also been on a good run, 2 draws recently but very good at home. Both have a record at around 33% of games being over 3.5, and their previous meeting this season ended 3-1 to Norwich. Of the four I think its the riskiest.
6. Middlesbrough-Bolton Over 3.5 Match Goals @ 9/4
Bolton have lost their last 3 away games and conceded 4 goals in each, but have also scored. Their last 5 games have all been over 3.5 – Middlesbrough on the other hand are in fantastic home form, with 4 wins from 5 games, scoring at least 2 in all of those wins. Mostly over 2.5 goals in games involving Boro, but considering form for both I can see a 3/4-1 win for the hosts.
7. Derby-Charlton Over 3.5 Match Goals @ 2/1
Derby’s last 4 games have all gone over 3.5 goals, whereas 2 of Charlton’s last 4 have gone over 3.5, and all four over 2.5 – usually losses. With conditions ever improving as we move towards the summer, the quality of football is too – meaning more goals.
8. Watford-Rotherham Over 3.5 Match Goals @ 2/1
Watford have played 2 sides in their most recent 5 games who are in a similar position to Rotherham and scored 7 + 5. Very good at home against a Rotherham side who are generally struggling in the Championship and especially away from home and come into the game on the back of a 5-0 thumping from Wolves.
Tips will be coming up shortly – all picked from these 8
