Selected Shocks: FA Cup Edition

Hi all

Very few bits of decent priced value this weekend, with there being mainly big teams vs lower league teams most prices are very poor, so finding value is harder. Anyway, away from that, we have picked 4 games we fancy there could be a shocks in, and because its the FA Cup, the value is very high:

1. Dover @ 7/1 vs Crystal Palace

Alan Pardew takes over, and he has a poor record in Cups recently – 3rd round losses to Brighton twice, and Stevenage. Dover are in brilliant home form, and on a lower league pitch, in poor conditions, Palace could struggle.

2. Ipswich @ 7/1 vs Southampton

Ipswich are one of the teams to beat in the Championship at the moment. Southampton will be more worried about the League, with their chance to bag 4th resting on the next few months. Can see a few kids being given a chance, and against hardened Championship players, they could be taught a lesson.

3. Blyth Spartans @ 10/1 vs Birmingham

After beating Hartlepool, Blyth now face a stiffer test in Birmingham. Both in good form, but this will have nothing to do with form. Blyth will try and keep it tight for the first hour, and use the counter attack if under the cosh. 10/1 is a high price, but this could be a truly great upset!

4. Preston @ 12/5 vs Norwich

Preston are in good nick at the moment, with Norwich having lost three of the last 5 away games.

I am tempted by the top three in a £1 treble @ 700/1, and even adding Preston for 2250/1.

Best of luck
