Weekend Preview

Afternoon all…

We are doing things a bit differently this weekend, and if it goes well – we may stick by this new method. Before, I picked 10 games on the basic win market, because generally there has been enough value about to pick from. This weekend, that market is a little iffy – I can only find a few games at good value I’m comfortable backing in that market so what is going to happen is 5 tips for each day – so basically one Accumulator for each day.

This is a good thing because in the past I’ve picked 3 games for an Acca on Saturday, and then other game Sunday evening, and like Ajax and Juventus in the last month…have messed it up when Saturday had gone so well. We will also be picking a mix of different markets as well! Here are my 10 picks – 5 for each day:

1. Luzern Win @ 11/10 vs Vaduz (Swiss Super League, 1645 KO)

Luzern (or Lucerne as some bookies have it) are in amazing form! Won 4 of their last 5 games, and 3/5 away from home. They face Vaduz who are in poor form, losing 4 of their last 5 games and 3/5 at home. What’s more interesting is how Luzern are beating teams – they have knocked 6 past a few teams, while also beating Basel 2-1. They are expected to do that well that Over 1.5 Team Goals is only 5/6!

2. Varbergs Win @ 13/10 vs IK Frej (Swedish Suprettan, 1500 KO)

Varbergs have started the season very well, with 4 wins in their last 5 games, and 2/3 away games this season. IK Frej have struggled a bit, with 2 losses in their last 5 and one loss in 3 home games so far. These two have never met before, so nothing to compare to, but good value none the less.

3. Lanciano-Spezia Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/10 (Serie B, 1400 KO)

The last two meetings between these two have ended 2-2 and 3-3, while there have been 4 BTTS games in the last 5 games. In the league, Spezia have a 40% record of over 2.5 away from home, while Lanciano have a 35% record of the same, but at home. Spezia have been in good away form, beating a few teams 2-1, 3-1 and 4-1 in their last 5 away games.

4. Steaua Bucharest -1  Goal Handicap @ 6/5 vs FC Brasov (Romanian Liga I, 1630 KO)

Steaua have won the last four meetings, 3 by -1 Goal. They are amazing away from home, winning 4 of their last 5 while their home form has allowed newly promoted Targu Mures to get ahead of them in the league with 3 games to go. FC Brasov have lost 3/5 both overall and at home, and have little a part to play in a relegation battle. However, Steaua will not want to lose their Champions League spot to Targu, and a league title so will go out to batter Brasov.

5. Leverkusen -1 Goal @ Evens vs Hoffenheim (Bundesliga, 1430 KO)

Leverkusen’s home form is incredible. 5 wins in a row, 15 scored, none conceded. 4 of these have been by -1 goal. Hoffenheim have lost 3/5 away from home, and 6 in the last 10. Bar a 3-2 loss last season, the previous 2 were 5-0 and 2-0 wins.

6. HJK Helsinki -1 Goal Handicap @ 7/5 vs VPS Vaasa (Finnish Veikkausliiga, 1600 KO)

HJK have won 5 out of 7 so far this season while VPS have lost 6/6. They have won 3 of the last 5 meetings, 2 of those by -1 Goal. 7/5 a cracking price! Not a lot more to say on this one!

7. AZ Alkmaar Win @ Evens vs Excelsior (Eredivisie, 1330 KO)

AZ need to win and win well, and hope Feyenoord drop points. The automatic Europa League spot is up for grabs, and with AZ winning 3 in a row, they are in a confident mood. Excelsior have nothing to play for, and are safe – so their attitude towards the game could be a little watered down due to the above reason.

8. Fenerbache Win + BTTS @ 17/10 vs Mersin (Turkish Super Lig, 1800 KO)

Fenerbache have won 7/10 games away from home, 6 of those Win + BTTS. They seem to have such a poor defence, but enough up top to outscore their opponents. Mersin have lost 3 of their last 5 home games – so not in the best of form. Fener have won all 7 meetings between the two, with 5 win + BTTS in those games!

9. Schalke II Win @ 23/20 vs Kray (German Regionalliga, 1300 KO)

Schalke have won 4/5 games overall, and 3/5 away from home. Kray may well be in decent form at home, but have faced mainly teams around them, but have lost 2/5 overall as well as all three meetings against Schalke’s 2nd team!

10. Brondby Win to Nil @ 29/20 vs Silkeborg (Danish Superliga, 1600 KO)

Brondby have won 3/5 games both overall and away from home, with all to nil. In the last 5 meetings, they have won 4 of those and three of those to nil. Silkeborg are pretty much relegated, so will be a little despondent possibly. They have lost 4/5 games overall and 3/5 at home, so very poor form and the reason they will go down this summer.

Tips from these games will be posted for both Saturday and Sunday – probably Friday night and Saturday night!

Best of luck
