Weekend Preview // Premier League + Championship

A very unlucky first day back – Benfica were 2-0 up and cruising but conceded, despite over 20 shots and 65% possession. SJK won 1-0, so the bet was void as they couldn’t find a 2nd goal.

This weekend we have 4 tips picked by Kieron and myself – unless stated all are Saturday games:

Man United vs Man City: BTTS + Over 2.5 goals @ 11/10 (Premier League, 12:30 KO)

City are the leagues top scorers at the moment with 9 goals, all three of their games have finished over 2.5 goals so far this season. United have been a little more conservative unsurprisingly under Mourinho with six goals and only one match finishing Over 2.5 match goals. City are without Aguero due to the elbow incident but still have plenty of attacking danger for United to consider. The games have been extremely close in recent years only two from five meetings throwing out three or more goals, historically though stretching back to the last eight that number rises to five (62.5%).

Liverpool vs Leicester: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/10 (Premier League, 17:15 KO)

Liverpool look defensively awful as usual – a 4-3 loss to Arsenal and a 1-1 draw with Spurs showing they have great weakness in the back four, and with Mignolet still in the team until Karius is fit again, and the mistake prone Clyne and Moreno near the first team, I think Leicester will finally find their shooting boots and bag at least a goal. On the other hand, Liverpool look a force to reckon with going forward – Coutinho and Firmino are a little hit and miss, but if they turn up, and the likes of Sturridge do too (Wijnaldum should since they are at home) then I think this could be a cracker! 11/10 a solid price.

Leeds vs Huddersfield: Huddersfield Win @ 7/4 (Championship, 15:00 KO)

Surprising to most Huddersfield find themselves top of the Championship having taken 13 from a possible 15 points. They have won four out of their five matches by exactly one goal, to their credit though they have faced some difficult opposition in; Wolves, Barnsley, Newcastle and Brentford. With all respect to Leeds this is probably the easiest opposition Huddersfield have faced thus far, and a two goal margin based on performances up to now is more than possible. Leeds have conceded nine across their five matches and lost three of those.

Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest – BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 7/5 (Championship, 13:15 KO – Sunday)

Aston Villa naturally would have been looking to right the wrongs of last season and seal automatic promotion back to the Premier league, things have gone exactly according to plan with just five points from a possible 15. Villa have managed five goals across these matches but definitely have the strike power to be returning far more than they are currently creating. Forest have turned a new leaf and are unbelievably exciting at the moment three of their five matches have finished BTTS, their goals record currently stands at 11 for and 11 against.
