Weekend Preview: Top 10 Tips

Morning all

With the football league in it’s final weekend – we have avoided it, bar one game. With just one game left, you will find many have little to play for, possibly playing a few fringe/youth players to give them a shot at impressing. Bar one Premier League game, all others are abroad, ranging from Hungary to Norway. Here are my 10 top picks this weekend – with 7/10 or 8/10 in the last 6 weekends!

1. Southampton Win @ Evens vs Sunderland (Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 13/10) (Premier League, 1500 KO, Saturday)

Southampton have fallen back a little recently with some tough games after such a good season. They have won 2/5 overall and 1/5 away from home – however, Sunderland are just dreadful. Bar a win against Newcastle, they have struggled to even gain a point for months now. Southampton need wins now to secure European football via the league, and against a team who have lost 3/5 games both overall and at home, they should have no problem – and my secondary tip over Over 1.5 Southampton goals @ 13/10!

2. Troyes Win @ Evens vs Nimes (Ligue 2, 1300 KO, Saturday)

Troyes are set to go up in Ligue 2 – just a win or so to secure it. This is an ideal opportunity, as Nimes have lost 5 games in a row, as well as 2/5 at home. Troyes have won 4 in their last 5, as well as 2/5 away with a couple of draws. They have won the last three games against Nimes, and should really beat them this time and secure promotion.

3. Poferradina Win @ 6/5 vs Zaragoza (Segunda Liga, 1100 KO, Sunday)

Home form is something in Spain that is very important to teams. Much like Ponferradina, their home form is W4/5, while away/overall their form is not brilliant. Zaragoza have lost 3/5 away from home, with the side we are backing winning the same fixture last season 4-2.

4. Magdeburg Win @ Evens vs Jena (German Regionalliga Nordost, 1305 KO, Sunday)

Magdeburg are top of the league, conceding just 18 goals in 24 games, scoring over 50! They have won 5/5 overall, and 5/5 away from home, with all games to nil overall and three out of 5 to nil away. Jena are 5th, and only lost 1 in the last 5, as well as being unbeaten at home. But, the last 4 games have been comfortable wins for Magdeburg, with 4-0, 3-0, 2-0 and 2-1 wins

5. Rosenborg Win @ 7/5 vs Odd Grenland (Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 13/8) (Tippeligaen, 1900 KO, Sunday)

We backed Rosenborg last weekend, and they paid us back with a 4-1 win. They have won 3/4 games this season, and have scored 10 in their last 2 games! Odd Grenland have also started well, but have not faced anyone decent yet, bar Molde. 3 wins in 5 games means they are in the top 8 – but the Norwegian giants should do the business.

6. Ferencvaros Win @ 1/2 vs Pecsi (Hungarian OTP Bank Liga, 1730, Sunday)

Ferencvaros are in very good form, winning 5 games on the trott, and unbeaten 5 games away, including 3 wins. Pecsi have lost 3/5 overall, and 2/5 at home – as well as losing 4 of the last 5 games vs Ferencvaros

7. Salzburg Win @ 1/2 vs Grodig (Austrian Bundesliga, 1730 KO, Saturday)

Salzburg have been a little iffy recently, with a couple of dropped points and losses. However they have beaten Grodig regularly and in the last 5 games, 4 wins – all winning by -1 goal at least. These two played midweek in the Cup, and won 2-0. Grodig have lost 3/5 both home and overall, while Salzburg have won 3/5 overall and 2/5 away – but have faced a couple of the best other teams in the league. Should win, comfortably

8. Monchengladbach Win @ 4/5 vs Hertha Berlin (Bundesliga, 1630 KO, Sunday)

Gladbach have won 4/5 overall, with 5/5 at home – but away they are not so hot, however they are unbeaten with 2 wins and 3 draws. Hertha are not looking too bad, with just a defeat in 5 games at home and 5 overall – but several draws. Gladbach have won the last 3 games between the two, scoring plenty of goals.

9. Lazio Win @ 8/11 vs Atalanta (Serie A, 1400 KO, Sunday)

Lazio are in very good form and upto 2nd now I believe. Won 3/5 overall and 4/5 away from home, as well as 3 of the last 5 vs Atalanta – who are undergoing one of the toughest spells of their recent history with fans falling out with the team after many poor performances. Atalanta themselves have won only 1/5 both overall and at home – so expecting an easy win for Lazio.

10. Bournemouth Win @ 1/2 vs Charlton (Championship, 1215 KO, Saturday)

Bournemouth and Watford both want to go up as Champions, so both will be going all out for the win! Bournemouth have won 4/5 games overall and 3/5 away from home. Charlton have only lost 1/5 overall, and 1/5 at home – but have nothing to play for. Can see a healthy win!

Right – that’s all from myself for tonight. As I write this, the first NAP of the week has failed. Napoli had a mare and lost 4-2, earning only 4 corners, 3 of those in the first 20 minutes.
