Statistics and Tips will be posted before 10am tomorrow. Plenty of matches, we have picked 73 between the two category’s. Lots of good value, the tips are already formulating in my head! Bundesliga and Ligue 1 started this evening, we avoided the PSG game, they are renowned for starting slowly, drawing 3 of the last 5 opening games – and so they did again, being held 1-1 by 11/12 champions Montpellier, who held on after going down to 10. Bayern won 3-1 against Borrusia Monchengladbach, goals from Robben, Mandzukic and Alaba easing them towards an opening win.
In the opening 8-10 games our methods are slightly different. Once the season is over 10 weeks old, the template we used at the end of last season can be used, finding form from the last 6 games (home and away) and last 6 games (relevant to whether the side we have picked is home or away) so you get a jist of overall form and how they do at home or away. We also take into account position, but nobody really looks at the league until 6-8 games. So until then we will mainly go off the form from the back end of last year, the final 12 games of overall form and the last 6 games home/away. We will give you the current form too, so most games this weekend will read only 1 game played and maybe 1 goal scored – but despite the stats looking bare we are still putting in the hours behind the scenes checking on injuries, signings and anything else relevant in order to judge what we think is good value or worth adding to our statistics.
With 70 odd games there will be 10 accumulators on offer, and looking at some of the value about they could be tasty! James has returned from Canada so we are back to full-strength, and hopefully with the help of the readers tuning in every week the blog will take off! Good luck this weekend..
