World Cup Qualifying Preview: 11th October

Two rounds of games left, the first of which takes place tomorrow. Here is our view on the games to pick, and the ones to miss!

Ones To Watch

Spain vs Belarus – this is a 9pm kick off, and with 14 points and two home draws so far Spain will want to improve this, since France are level on points. You won’t see a 2nd team – they need 3 points! 1/16 is long odds but last time, away from home it ended 4-0, so the handicap market could be one to pick, -1 and -2 will be great picks!

Russia vs Luxembourg – Russia are top of the pile in their group, close to qualifying, but not quite there yet. 1/9 away to a poor Liechtenstein is decent odds, one to add to the Accy!

Romania vs Andorra – Romania won 4-0 last time, and with Andorra conceding an average of 3 goals per game, this should be pretty comfortable. Romania could still feasibly qualify, only a point behind 2nd place Hungary. -1 Handicap could also be a great bet to do!

Germany vs Rep. Ireland – Germany won 6-1 in Ireland a year ago, and with them qualified – they may send out a 2nd 11, but even that will be more than enough for an average Republic of Ireland. -1/2 could be decent little tips.

Holland vs Hungary – Holland drew 2-2 with a poor Estonia side a month ago and will be itching to put that right. 4/11 at home is very good going, make the most of it because that price will drop by tomorrow night!

Italy vs Denmark – This match ended 3-1 a year ago, and with Italy almost qualified, and Denmark’s home form quite poor, 2/1 is terrific value for an in form Italy. Denmark could still finish 2nd, so could want it more than Italy, but with Pirlo running the midfield and their countering style, it could end 2 or 3-1 to Italy.

Switzerland vs Albania – The Swiss need another point or two for guarenteed qualification, and take on 5th placed Albania who have nothing to play for, which could be dangerous. Last time out Switzerland had an easy win, and are also unbeaten, which is how Legendary coach Ottmar Hitzfeld will want it to end.

Bosnia vs Liechtenstein – Bosnia are qualified but can and probably will hammer Liechtenstein. Last time it ended 8-1, away from home! Terrifying for the minnows really. 1/20 is one for the Accy’s

Games To Avoid

Moldova vs San Marino – Although 1/12, Moldova are out, along with San Marino – so this one could be a little too close. With the minnows scoring their first goal in ages against Poland, they may have a spring in their step and even get a draw. It could be easy to stick in a big accumulator, but could end up being the usual one to let you down!

Greece vs Slovakia – At 11/20 Greece look good value but with the likes of Marek Hamsik, Martin Skrtel, Robert Vittek and Miroslav Stoch – they are far too equipped for scoring a few goals. Definitely one to avoid! Greece are through to Brazil – so they may field a 2nd team to please managers in domestic leagues.

Croatia vs Belgium – Both are through to Brazil next year, with no chance of anyone catching them. The last 3 games between the two are as follows: 1-1, 1-0 Greece, 1-0 Belgium. Very close as you can see, Belgium have the talent, but have never gelled well. Croatia are dangerous, Mario Mandzukic is in great form for Bayern. Croatia are 2nd, but their place in the best runners table is secure as Bulgaria cannot catch them or Hungary. Incredibly hard to predict.

Ukraine vs Poland – both are in with a chance of finishing 2nd, both have match winning players, such as Lewandowski, Piszczek and Jakub Błaszczykowski for Poland and Modric, Kalinic and Srna for Croatia. Stay well away!

Azerbaijan vs N Ireland – Odds are pretty good, 6/5 for Azerbaijan and 11/5 for Ireland, but both are out, and the last game ended 0-0. both dreadful teams and not worth losing money on.
