This is something new we have thought of – each weekend we will search through the fixtures to find some highly priced single bets on what we think could be good value when it comes to shock results – here are our selections:
Guingamp 4/1 vs Toulouse – Guingamp started the season very well, reaching the top 6 and beating some of the top sides, but have tailed off in recent weeks. They face a Toulouse side who are in an uncertain patch of form, they have won just 1 of the last 6. We feel 4/1 is an outrageous price considering all factors.
Gateshead 7/2 vs Luton – Gateshead travel to an in-form Luton this weekend, but Gateshead are also playing extremely well! Luton have won their last 6 home games, but the visitors have won 4 of the last 6 away games. 7/2 is a very good price for a potential shock. Gateshead or Draw is 23/20.
Zwolle vs Feyenoord Draw 10/3 – These two have been up and down this season, Feyenoord started poorly and lost most of their first 6 games. Zwolle were sitting in the top 3 for the first 8 weeks, but now the likes of Ajax and Vitesse have picked up some form and they lost their best player, they have dropped a little. Feyenoord are very unpredictable, but have won 4 of the last 6. Zwolle are drawing a lot of games, often finding the all important goal to snatch a point. 10/3 is good value for the draw.
Hertha Berlin 7/1 vs Dortmund – Hertha have just come back up after a season or two in the Bundesliga II – and have begun well. Dortmund, minus Mario Gotze, have been indifferent since their Champions League final appearance. They have lost 3 of the last 6, with Hertha losing just two of the last 6. You can get 4/1 on the draw, or 2/1 Double Chance (Hertha Win/Draw)
Lille 9/1 vs PSG – PSG seem to have learned from their errors last season, and are picking up points against poorer teams, and even pushing aside the bigger sides. Lille, despite the loss of Rudi Garcia seem to have gained in strength and are pushing Monaco and PSG all the way, just 4 points separate the 3, despite the vast casom in budgets. Will PSG underestimate Lille? 9/1 Lille to win is amazing value, and even 4/1 draw isn’t bad.
Den Haag 10/1 vs PSV – Despite Cocu’s insistence on bringing through youth players, it seems to be backfiring. Changing too many players at once has unsettled fans and players alike, and things seem to be taking time to adjust. They have lost too many games to the likes of Roda and Breda, and have conceded 6 against Vitesse – can ADO repeat the feat? 10/1 is a big price but considering form and all the problems PSV are having it maybe worth a few quid!
Juve/Atalanta Draw – 3/1 – Teams in Italy are reknowned for their strength at home, in terms of home form – just one of the top 10 have lost more than one home game so far, out of 8 or 9 games in some cases. Juve tend to win away from home 1-0, and have kept 6 clean sheets in a row. Atalanta have lost just one game at home so far, winning 4 and drawing the other 2, so it is no easy task breaking them down. Most games there end 1-1 or 2-1 to Atalanta, so a BTTS bet could be a good bet, and with 6 clean sheets it’ll be at a great price!
Hull/Norwich 3/1 vs WBA/Sunderland – Both Hull and Norwich are 3/1 to beat their respective opponents, and with WBA being without a manager, and Sunderland struggling, both are great value to get a win. Chrissy Hughton is fighting for his job so you wont expect Norwich to roll over. Double chance are both over evens, worth a look!
Carlisle 4/1 vs Walsall – Walsall seem to be the perennial mid-table team. Had a good start but are slowly falling away. Carlisle looked like early relegation certainties but have recovered and are now midtable. Carlisle have lost just one of the last 6, and Walsall have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 2 – so not in the best of form. 4/1 is a good price for a dangerous Carlisle team, Double chance is well over Evens.
