We had a good week in terms of Shocks – out of 5, 3 won at odds of 5/2, 5/1 and 8/1. Here are the picks for this weekend!
Southampton 3/1 vs Liverpool – Liverpool are often inpregnable at home, but away, they can be downright awful. Southampton have a brilliant side, the likes of Lallana, J Rod, Shaw and Lambert all getting in the England squad recently. Liverpool conceded 3 at home to Swansea – what can Soton muster?
Hyde 17/2 vs Braintree – Despite 1 win all season, Hyde have been looking dangerous away from home, often putting in their best performances. There is a pitch inspection, but with nothing to lose they could well pick up 3 points!
Nurnberg 11/1 vs Dortmund – Dortmund are very unpredictable. Last week they lost 3-0 (last I saw of it) to Hamburg, but recovered well with a 4-2 win in Russia in the Champions League. An outside pick, but we picked Hertha to win at Dortmund at 6/1 and it happened.
Ajax 2/1 vs Feyenoord – Feyenoord are the Bookies favourites at 23/20, but you can’t discount Ajax at 2/1 – they are the Dutch Man Utd. Countless titles, but having a bad season thus far. Captain Siem de Jong has returned recently and their form has picked up. Feyenoord have a young team, and concede a fair old wad of goals. Fancy Ajax + BTTS in this, unsure of the price but it will be over 3/1!
Bastia 4/1 vs Lorient – Bastia have a team with a lot of young potential stars – Boudebouz, Khazri, Djibril Cisse, Romaric and Milos Krasic make up an impressive little team. Lorient’s overall form is iffy, but good at home. 4/1 represents great value, with BTTS a given I think in this one, add in over 2.5 and you get 11/8, BTTS + Bastia is 7/1!
Genk 9/2 vs Anderlecht – Anderlecht finally won last weekend against the worst team in the league, Mons. They have struggled since the winter break and look short of confidence, and some experienced players. Genk are not in the best form, but will see this as a shot to nothing to pick up points.
RKC 9/2 vs AZ – RKC are good at upsetting big teams, they are hard to break down and counter well. AZ played Thursday, drawing with Liberec. If Johannsson doesn’t fire, they may struggle to break down a resilliant RKC.
