You know what I’m going to say…1/2, again! 5 days in a row now! Czech-Croatia BTTS landed quite easily in the end, while the Italy game was dull, and ended 1-0, which makes it more annoying that the first bet for that game on my notepad was Italy Win to Nil @ 13/8!
The 2nd round of games is completed today, with all four teams in action on Group F, while Ireland-Belgium completes Group E:
Belgium vs Ireland: Belgium Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 1/1 (Group E, 1400 KO)
This should be a cracker! Ireland win, and they have one foot in the next stage, while if Belgium win they are back into 2nd and have a game against toothless Sweden to come. I thought they had learned their lesson – centre backs in full-back positions never work, yet they stuck with it and Vertonghen/Ciman looked lost. It also didn’t help that Italy set up to frustrate them, but with Ireland needing a win to stand any chance, they should come out of their shell.
With Lukaku, Hazard and De Bruyne leading the line – I think they will find their feet in this one and put a couple past Ireland. There is no alternative – lose and they are in huge trouble!
Portugal vs Austria: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 7/4 (Group F, 2000 KO)
These were the two meant to run away with this group – Austria the dark horse of a lot of people, while Portugal are a known quantity and really should be beating the likes of Iceland. The pressure will be on both to get something here – if Austria lose, they are likely to exit, while a loss for Portugal puts an incredible amount of pressure on their game with Hungary.
Both were frustrated for long period in their opener, but with both needing a result I think it will be a lot more open. Dragovic missing for the Austrians is a big miss, but Kevin Wimmer should fill that void well.
The value markets so far have been BTTS – with most games being at least Even money – with 9/21 BTTS and a 6 over 2.5’s. Going for a mix of both is risky, but when I have gone for it, I’ve picked 2/2, and there have only been 4.
The bet pays around 4.5/1.
Best of luck
