It’s been roughly a week since our last post due to the quiet international period, and the severe lack of value in any of the midweek games, even Friday being a pretty rubbish night of football!
Four fantastic value bets for Saturday in the English leagues, a mix of myself and Kieron’s thinking:
Watford vs Sunderland: Watford Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 1/1 (1500 KO, Premier League)
Watford will really a fancy a home game against an all but relegated Sunderland. This is a chance to put an end to an ‘Iffy’ run of form for the Hornets. Watford have taken seven points from their last six matches, scoring in all but two – drawing blanks at Old Trafford and Selhurst Park. Surprisingly for a team sitting bottom Sunderland don’t have the worst defensive record in the league they have conceded though a considerable 50 goals this term, add this to the fact Watford have scored two or more on nine occasions and evens seems a good price.
Preston vs Nottingham Forest: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 29/20 (1500 KO, Championship)
These two sides are 3rd and 5th in the BTTS table for the Championship, Preston have had 57.89% of games finish BTTS whilst Forest have had 63.16%. Incredibly in Preston’s last five matches four have finished BTTS and the same amount has finished Over 2.5 Goals. Nottingham Forest have had two games from five finish BTTS and three games finish Over 2.5 Goals. Nottingham Forest have the second worst defence in the league with 64 goals conceded so the lesser BTTS in their last five shouldn’t be too much of a concern. Preston are clearly the stronger side especially at home so for the riskier of you.
Bolton vs Chesterfield: Bolton -1 Goal Handicap @ 21/20 (1500 KO, League One)
Bolton are desperately chasing down league leaders Sheffield United but seem to have a huge task on their hands with a seven point deficit. Pressure isn’t seeming an issue though having won their last five matches and two draws before those making them seven games unbeaten. In theory Bolton should be heading into a pretty straight forward home game against second from bottom Chesterfield, who have the second worst goal scoring record with 38 goals all season. To make matters worse for Chesterfield they are about to face the toughest defence in league one having only conceded 34 goals. In their last four matches Bolton have won with a -1 handicap.
Rotherham vs Fulham: Fulham -1 Goal Handicap @ 1/1 (1500 KO, Championship)
Fulham, at home at least – struggle. However, away from home on the other hand they are among the best in the league! They hammered a Newcastle side that look like going up, not only by the scoreline but in terms of the actual game – Newcastle barely had a sniff! Rotherham on the other hand are dead and buried – 24 points from safety with only 8 games left, so in theory a loss on Saturday will seal their fate once and for all, which has been coming for a long time. They have lost 13 of their last 15 games in all competitions. Fulham are a point off a playoff place, so this will be the ideal chance to gain ground on Sheffield Wednesday.
In total, as an accumulator, this pays around 18/1.
Best of luck
