A very quick double landed yesterday – around 4.3/1 with most bookmakers, and made for a stress free night.
Firstly, Groningen-Heracles BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 1/1 landed after 48 minutes, and then a little later, Portsmouth-Plymouth BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 13/8 landed after 18 minutes. The first three shots on target all went in!
With 6 winners in 8 this week (and two doubles @ 3.2/1 and 4.3/1) I am hoping of continuing the good form tonight with two similar matches:
St Polten vs LASK Linz: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 6/5 (Austrian Erste, 1930 KO)
This is mainly about my opinion. Form is irrelevant in games like this – and despite both’s BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals records being decent of late (5/10 for St Polten, 6/10 for LASK) the main thing to consider here is the meaning of the game. Top two teams in the league, 3 points separate them and a win for either here is a must. If St Polten win, they are pretty much promoted, while a win for the away side and it’s all square with 2 games to play.
Previous meetings don’t inspire, but with both in hot form in terms of scoring, and both leaking goals – I think it should be a great game. Much like with the Turkish double on Monday – a goal for either side will draw the other out as they need to win – so an early goal, like in both of yesterday’s games – is key. If there is a goal in the first 30, I’d think it should come in. The worry is it stays tight for a long time – 60 minutes or more, and the onus becomes on winning 1-0. Shouldn’t happen though. Hopefully!
Almere vs Willem II: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 1/1 (Dutch Erste Playoffs, 1945 KO)
Almere have been good to me of late – I backed them in both of the previous playoff games, and they won 4-1 both times. They have scored 15 goals in their last 3 games, and are in red hot form with 8 wins in their last 10, with 29 scored! They play a Willem II side that finished in the bottom 3 for good reason, 8 losses in their last 10 games says more than enough – 21 conceded is also pretty poor.
With a top division team playing a 2nd division team – the onus is really on the bigger team to produce. Again, form is irrelevant – however with Almere in such good nick they should really fancy their chances here. If Willem fail to turn up, they will be turned over. Despite Almere being 2/1 outsiders, I think they are the better team at the moment and with the winning mentality well ingrained, they should do well. Willem should be up for this, so I’m thinking goals shall be on the cards.
Double pays just over 3.4/1.
Best of luck
