A very disappointing Sunday – Venezia were in control and 2-0 up, but with a few minutes to go conceded twice (one disallowed) to ruin one bet. Galatasaray then went against their fantastic home form and lost 2-1 to the worst away side in the league…was a pretty gut wrenching day!
Tuesday see’s a full card in the Football League – and I have picked out four great looking games:
Norwich vs Newcastle: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/8 (Championship, 1945 KO)
Newcastle may have only conceded 8 away goals all season – but against a Norwich side in hot home form, they should struggle to keep them at bay. Newcastle are also stronger coming into this, with Christian Atsu back up to speed after the AFCON and Dwight Gayle pretty much fully fit – and with their last meet ending 4-3 to Newcastle (3-2 to Norwich with added on time to go!) I think this has been overpriced, since Norwich are one of few sides who can really trouble Newcastle.
Rotherham vs Huddersfield: Huddersfield -1 Goal Asian Handicap @ 23/20 (Championship, 1945 KO)
Rotherham look pretty much dead and buried – rock bottom of the league with nearly 15 points between them and safety! Huddersfield on the other hand look very dangerous – winning 4 of their last 5 away games and in some style. They are Newcastle and Brighton’s nearest and most threatening challenger in all honesty – and against a Rotherham side destined for League One, they should win and win well, with the A/H adding some value.
Carlisle vs Doncaster: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 21/20 (League Two, 1945 KO)
Two of the highest scoring sides in the league this season – with Carlisle 3rd and Doncaster 1st. The home side have had a total of 49 goals in 15 home games, while Donny have had 51 in 15 away. Going through Carlisle’s home form – 9 BTTS, with 7 going over 2.5 goals as well. Doncaster’s stats for the same thing have been skewed a little of late as they have faced the likes of Yeovil, Newport and Notts County – three of the worst sides, so the fact none have been BTTS affects the average. Take out those three and you have 9 BTTS + Over 2.5’s in the previous 12. Ended 2-2 last time as well, adding fuel to the flame!
Colchester vs Crawley: Colchester Win @ 5/6 (League Two, 1945 KO)
Colchester have been on fire at home of late – 6 wins on the spin, and facing a Crawley side in dire away form – with 10 losses in 16. Bar a win against Crewe, their last away win was back in October! Hard to find any form other than the win (win + over 2.5 @ 7/4 the only tempter) – the win looks good value @ 5/6.
The overall price is 18/1 – for something a little less risky you can always try the following from the same set of tips:
Colchester Win @ 5/6
Huddersfield Win @ 8/11
Nor-New BTTS @ 4/5
Car-Don BTTS @ 8/13
That pays just over 8/1 and looks very solid!
Best of luck
