A truly gutting day yesterday – just 2/4 with Volendam -1 @ 6/5 winning (3-0) and Over 1.5 Dijon goals @ 1/1. The other two were shockers – Westerlo had a man sent off and that effectively ended their chances of scoring with Gent racking up 5 against them, while Go Ahead Eagles lost 3-0 to the worst team in the league…simply one of those games! Nobody saw that coming!
Today I am sticking with the lower leagues in England, as I find the top leagues around Europe are always a little funny in the first week back after the international break – this for me has proven a more reliable way of doing things as there has been little to no disruption among the leagues tipped on.
All markets tipped are available on Bet365 and William Hill that I know of, while some others do offer the market.
Gillingham-Coventry BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 21/20 (League One, 1500 KO – NAP)
1st vs 2nd – and two quite high scorers. Coventry have the hottest young prospects on show, with Adam Armstrong top scoring in the league at just 18 while on loan from Newcastle, and along with the likes of Murphy, James Maddison and the evergreen Joe Cole, they have a fantastic attacking lineup. Gillingham have the likes of Bradley Dack, McGlashen and a few others in great form and are a more team orientated side – there are very few standout players as the whole team chip in. In terms of stats:
Coventry have 5 BTTS + Over 2.5’s in a row, and 5 in 9 at home. They have scored in 8 of their 9 home games this season, while are pretty good at the back. Gillingham’s record stands at 12/22 for this market this season, with 6/11 away and conceding in 10/11, while scoring in 8. In the past two seasons this bet landed in this match in 3 of the 4 meets.
Notts County-Northampton BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 6/5 (League Two, 1500 KO)
Both have roughly a 50% BTTS + Over 2.5 hit rate this season. Northampton have a record of 6/11 away from home, while Notts County are 4/9 at home – but both have scored/conceded in around 85-90% of games. Should be a good game. Northampton have been at it recently in this market, with most of their recent games ending in such a manner. Definitely one I think will have goals in!
Eastleigh-Grimsby BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 1/1 (National League Premier, 1500 KO)
Again with these two – both have a 50% or better ratio for this market. 5 of Eastleigh’s last 6 home games have ended BTTS + Ov 2.5 Goals, while 5/11 of Grimsby’s away games have done so too. With these two a lot of their games have ended 1-1, so despite both scoring they have not always gone over 2.5, however if you count the close ones that did end 1-1 you will see that both also score/concede in a great number of games! They have played 4 times in 2015, and 2 ended in this type of market. With both in good form, I think it will again.
If you look at their last 10 each overall – Eastleigh have scored in 9 and conceded in all 10, with 7/10 landing in said market. Grimsby on the other hand have scored in 9 and conceded in 8 with 5/10 landing in this market.
Chester-Woking BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 1/1 (National League Premier, 1500 KO)
There are a few stats that suggest this could well land, such as the last two meets ending 5-2 and 3-2 to Woking, but form wise for Woking it looks bleak. They struggle against teams in the top half, but do score a few against teams around them, such as Chester. In August it ended 5-2, while Chester have 7 BTTS + Over 2.5’s in their last 10 games, just 4/10 for Woking. The club as a whole is a little unstable, with the manager putting everyone up for loan after a spell of poor performances – this could work in our favour as they will look to prove themselves to the club each and every game. This is the biggest punt of the lot, but one I think could be a little like that Braintree game the other day – it could land inside 15-20 mins and end with 5-6 goals, although that game in question had 9 the last time I checked!
As an Accumulator this pays 17.5/1, and my preferred double is Gillingham-Coventry + Eastleigh-Grimsby @ 3.2/1.
Best of luck!
