It was one of those typical nights – Norwich scored early, then tailed off, eventually scoring a 2nd when it was too late, in injury time…As for Preston, well they went 1-0 down and had a player sent off for pretty much assaulting a Newcastle player – after that they never looked like scoring!
Same double from the EFL Cup, added to two from Serie A:
(1) Man Utd vs Man City: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 6/4 (Wednesday)
Both will desperately want to win this – both out of form, and both potentially playing a few players who have not had a lot of games time. Bailly injured, Smalling out of form…Utd should be vulnerable at the back more than usual, with someone like Phil Jones to come in. Luke Shaw should get game time, while Rooney and Rashford should feature. For City, Iheanacho is a guaranteed starter after impressing at the weekend, while a whole host of their star-studded substitute bench should see playing time. This should be a cracker!
(2) Southampton vs Sunderland: Southampton -1 Goal Handicap @ 11/10 (Wednesday)
Sunderland boss David Moyes has already stated there will be changes, possibly for a few youngsters, and to give their battered ego’s a bit of a rest after yet another loss. The 2nd string couldn’t do any worse, and against a Southampton side who could feature Sofiane Boufal and James Rodriguez among others, I think they won’t fair any better. One of those 2-0, clean sheet games in my eyes.
(3) Sassuolo vs Roma: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 1/1 (1945 KO)
Roma are 2nd in the table, and face a Sassuolo side who are very good at home. 3 wins from 4 for the home side, and with Roma top scoring in the league, but struggling away (3 BTTS + Overs in 4) and conceding on average a goal per game – teamed with Domineco Berardi’s return to fitness – I think this should be a cracking game.
(4) Fiorentina vs Crotone: Fiorentina Over 2.5 Team Goals @ 1/1 (1945 KO)
Despite Fiorentina’s struggles this season, I still fancy them to knock three past lowly Crotone, who have lost 8 games from 9, conceded 2 or more in 7. Fioren hit a little form on the weekend, putting 5 past Cagliari – so with a little confidence behind them, they should beat a beleaguered Crotone.
Best of luck!
