Hello All! We hope you’ve had a great Christmas yesterday…but now down to the serious business – Boxing Day football! We’ve had a chilled last week or so – nothing really took my fancy over the course of the week, even with a little French and Italian league football on.

For both myself and Kieron today – the value seems to be in the goals markets. We have outlined four BTTS + Over 2.5’s that look cracking bets:

Reading vs Norwich: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 6/5 (Championship, 1500 KO)

Reading are a real force in the Championship this season, sitting third with 40 points from a possible 66. Reading are the third highest scorers in the league with 30 goals but also have the joint second worst defence in the top half having conceded 29. They face up against the most unpredictable side in the league in Norwich, sitting 10th having scored 37 and conceded 34. Ten of Readings 22 matches so far have finished Over 2.5 goals, whilst nine have finished BTTS. Fourteen of Norwich’s matches have finished Over 2.5 Goals with 12 finishing BTTS.

Leicester vs Everton: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/10 (Premier League, 1500 KO)

Leicester are a far cry from the team that won the league last season, both in performance and results – one thing that has remained the same though is the level of strength they have shown at home. They have picked up 15 of their 17 points at home, and have only lost once. Everton are unpredictable as usual – beating Arsenal, but looking toothless against Liverpool. After beating Sunderland and WBA in their first two away games, they have only picked up a point since, losing 4 in a row! To balance, Leicester are missing Vardy, Drinkwater, Fuchs and Huth – four key components in last seasons’ success. Should be a good one!

Stevenage vs Cambridge: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 5/4 (League Two, 1500 KO)

This should be an entertaining game. Stevenage have a total of over 70 goals scored or conceded this season, with 37 in 10 home games, and 7 BTTS + Over 2.5’s. Cambridge’s record isn’t quite as good, but with 4 wins in a row on the road, and plenty scored – they should have confidence going into this one against a team with such a poor defensive record.

Barnsley vs Blackburn: BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 1/1 (Championship, 1500 KO)

This is staggering value. If you have seen anything of either of these two this season, you will know this. For example, Blackburn, since beating Newcastle – have lost their last three games 3-2, with a total of 27 scored and 37 conceded. You then have Barnsley, who in their last 10 home games have 6 BTTS + Over 2.5’s, but 37 goals in said 10 games. 38 scored, 35 conceded in just 22 games – they have the 3rd best attack, and the 4th worst defence in the league. Great stats, and clearly a game that should entertain!

This pays a grand total of 20.7/1 with Bet365, and obviously will vary. You get better odds if you go with Skybet or William Hill’s ‘Both Score, No Draw’ market at around 35/1.

Best of luck!
