After a poor weekend, with many close calls – we come to the last domestic football before the internationals kick in this weekend. Not a great deal on, but two games that I can see plenty of goals in:
Monchengladbach II vs Schalke II: Gladbach -1 Goal Asian Handicap @ 6/4 (German Regionalliga West, 1900 KO – NAP)
Gladbach were such low value last season due to the fact that they were smashing most teams week in week out, but eventually lost form and lost out to Lotte in the race for promotion. They have started this season well, with 3 wins and a draw in their four games – including 4-1 and 2-0 wins over Viktoria Koln and Essen.
Schalke have been a mixed bag, winning two, losing two and drawing one. They don’t look quite as good as last season, and with Gladbach adding a few quality young players from abroad, I can see them improving and potentially going one better this season. There were a lot of goals between them last season, with a 5-2 win for Gladbach, and a 2-2 draw.
They scored 80 goals in 36 games last season…and for me have improved their squad. At home, today – I think they’ll win, and win well. Asian Handicap provides a little safety net.
Trelleborgs vs IK Frej: Trelleborgs Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 1/1 (Swedish Superettan, 1800 KO)
Trelleborgs started slowly this season after an amazing promotion. They are unbeaten at home, with 5 wins and 5 draws – 17 scored and only 5 conceded. They have scored 2 or more in 5 of their 10 home games.
Frej have been poor away – 1 win, 4 losses and 4 draws with 14 conceded. They have drawn 3 games 2-2, and conceded two or more in 6/9 games! Trelleborgs won the away meeting in June 2-0, and when they are that poor away normally…they should do the same, if not better at home!
The double pays around 4/1.
Best of luck!
