What a dreadful start to February. Last weekend was Absolutely Stinking..1/4. The main one for me was Walsall losing 0-3 at home to Millwall. Unbelievable. Four again this week staying in England.
‘At a Glance’
- Brentford V Sheffield Wednesday @ 4/5
- Colchester V Swindon @ 4/6
- Bournemouth V Stoke @ Evens
- Crewe V Walsall @ Evens
Sheffield Wednesday vs Brentford @ 4/5 (15:00 KO, English Championship)
Both teams boast a BTTS % in the 60’s for the season, with Brentford having scored 42 and conceded 44 and Wednesday scoring 45 and conceding 33 it’s hardly surprising. Since November Brentford have only failed to score against Brighton and Middlesbrough which is certainly forgivable given the way the opposition play football. Sheffield Wednesday are very much the same having only failed to score against Middlesbrough in their last 11.
Colchester vs Swindon @ 4/6 (15:00 KO, English League One)
Another game where both teams hold BTTS %’s in the 60’s. Colchester currently sit bottom of League one but hold an admiral goals for record of 36 with a massive 68 goals conceded. Swindon themselves have scored 42 and conceded a considerable 47. Although Colchester sit bottom and don’t score an explicit amount of goals they do seem to score regularly, they have a home advantage here against a Swindon side who don’t tend to keep clean sheets.
Bournemouth vs Stoke @ EVENS (15:00 KO, Barclays Premier League)
Bournemouth are coming off the back of a 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal, although failing to score they put in an unbelievable second half and create enough chances to win the game. They will be confident ahead of this one and currently have a goals record of 29 scored and 41 conceded. Stoke are now four games without a goal bare in mind though three of these games came at; Arsenal, United and Leicester, but in the four games before this they managed to accumulate 10. Their season total sits at 24 scored and 31 conceded. Although the goal tallies for both teams are relatively low this is the first game in four Stoke will be expected to win and they should against a fragile Bournemouth defence end this unwanted goals streak. As for Bournemouth if they can recapture the second halves form against Arsenal they should be able to find a few goals here.
Crewe vs Walsall @ EVENS (15:00 KO, English League One)
Two teams at opposite ends of the table, Crewe sit 22nd and Walsall 2nd. Crewe have managed to score on 30 occasions this season and conceded on 50 whilst Walsall have scored 47 and conceded 30. Again very much like Colchester; Crewe don’t score masses of goals but they do score consistently, they’ve found the net in four of their last five. Walsall have hit a patch where they struggle to keep a clean sheet they have conceded in all of their last six matches – four of which were BTTS.
