The Last Games of November! before we know it we’ll be eating till we’re sick, spending colossal amounts of time, money and stress and partaking in the betting chaos that is boxing day. My favourite thing about this time of year? the christmas number 1 debate! will it be; Mourinho with ‘do they know we’re Chelsea?’, Jamie Vardy with ‘A message to you Ruud(ie)’ or Daniel Sturridge’s Medical team with their rendition of bob the builders ‘can we fix it’. Before it gets anymore awkward lets move quickly on to this weeks BTTS selections! five in total.
‘At a Glance’
- Blackburn V Sheffield Wednesday @ 42/41
- QPR V Leeds @ EVENS
- Rotherham V Bristol City @ 5/6
- Walsall V Bradford City @ 24/23
- Reims V Rennes @ 11/10
Blackburn V Sheffield Wednesday @ 42/41 (15:00 KO, English Championship)
Blackburn BTTS 47% (eight from 17) Sheffield Wednesday BTTS 71% (12 from 17)
Blackburn aren’t usually the type of side I would select in a BTTS market, I was quite surprised to see a 47% BTTS record, In my mind Blackburn do not score enough goals. Having said that Sheffield Wednesday do concede goals: 20 in fact, only keeping five clean sheets. Blackburn have scored a total 17 goals, failing to score on six occasions. Blackburn have conceded 16 goals keeping seven clean sheets. As I said Blackburn aren’t my ideal type of selection not a huge goals for tally and a admirably low goals against, but Sheffield Wednesday have managed to net 23 times this season failing to score on five occasions. I feel Sheffield Wednesday’s score tally and high conceded record outweighs Blackburn’s low statistics. Worth noting in the last five meetings four have finished BTTS.
QPR V Leeds @ 1/1 (15:00 KO, English Championship)
QPR BTTS 47% (eight from 17) Leeds BTTS 53% (nine from 17)
QPR have shocked me this season with ridiculously poor results thus far, but with Neil Warnock now named manager until the summer the club can put away speculation and focus on turning around the season. This is a battle of teams who concede, QPR thus far have managed to concede a total 25 goals whilst Leeds have let in 20. Leeds scoring record is a slight concern having scored only 16 goals across 11 of their 17 games, QPR seem to score a bit more freely having netted 22 goals across 10 of their 17 games. Both teams have new managers who will be under pressure to push the sides out of there disappointing league positions, games like this against under performing league rivals are must wins. Expect an open affair with chances at either end.
Rotherham V Bristol City @ 5/6 (15:00 KO, English Championship)
Rotherham BTTS 71% (12 from 17) Bristol City BTTS (59% 10 from 17)
Another Battle of teams who concede! Rotherham have conceded 33 goals across 14 of their 17 games, whilst Bristol City have conceded 27 across 12 of their 17 games. A combined 60 goals conceded!. As much as both teams have the capability to throw away clean sheets, goal scoring is of course of importance and both teams have scored 18 goals so far this term. Rotherham have only failed to score on three occasions and Bristol City on four. These two sides have played eight times throughout history, seven of which have finished BTTS.
Walsall V Bradford @ 24/23 (15:00 KO, English League 1)
Walsall BTTS 56% (10 from 18) Bradford BTTS 47% (9 from 19)
Walsall have netted 30 times already this season and have only failed to score on two occasions, they don’t concede a considerable amount of goals and have kept seven clean sheets. Seven clean sheets certainly isn’t a bad record for the end of November but just recently Walsall have come into the habit of letting in goals conceding in their last four games and five from their last six in total. Bradford have managed to score 21 times this year failing on five occasions, this record isn’t really a concern especially as previously mentioned Walsall’s current conceding form.
Reims V Rennes @ 11/10 (19:00 KO, French Ligue 1)
Reims BTTS 43% (six from 14) Rennes BTTS 71% (10 from 14)
Reims have scored in eight from 14 games, scoring a total 13 goals and have conceded in 11 from 15, letting in a total 17. Rennes have scored in 13 from 14, scoring a total 19 and conceded in 11 from 15, letting in a total 16. Rennes have a fantastic scoring record only failing to net on one occasion, that paired with Reims conceding stats bodes well for Rennes half of the selection. Reims scoring record is a little concerning failing to score on six occasions, and a lowly 13 goal tally. Even with Reims poor scoring record Rennes are not formidable at the back and Reims will certainly fancy themselves scoring against this defence on home soil. In the last four meetings 3 have finished BTTS.
My favoured Bet’s Would be as follows;
- Rotherham V Bristol City
- QPR V Leeds
- Walsall V Bradford City
Treble pays 7/1.
Also the five fold which pays at 30/1!
Best Of Luck
