This is the only game that takes my fancy tomorrow, and with a 1am kick off, it’s going to be one most are likely to be asleep during! I have had a look at the limited stats available, and have picked two bets I like from it. Here’s my thoughts on the game…
Both conceded to poor opposition in the first game, Peru for Brazil just 3 minutes in and Venezuela for Colombia – the result however differed greatly. Brazil came back and won 2-1 in the 93rd minute, while Colombia lost despite dominating the game. It turned sour, with many yellow cards and Falcao and Bacca in particular performing very poorly. This means that unless Colombia get something, they could well need to beat Peru and hope results go their way – so 3rd place might be a stretch.
Brazil are just about favourites at 11/10, and with two wins in the last two recent meets, and an in-form Neymar, rightly so. Colombia don’t look like they are in full-flow, with Falcao holding them back I think. Going back to the World Cup lineup would be my personal advice for them as it worked for them.
I think that there will be goals, with Brazil on the front foot knowing they could help in knocking out an opponent that could be a danger to them in the latter rounds. Here are my two picks for the game:
1. BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 6/4 (NAP)
Like mentioned, I think Colombia will up their game, and score. Brazil will certainly score. Should be a goal-fest! It’s hard to go off form since both have played opposition a lot worse than them and in friendlies you don’t see the proper team, with a few new guys tried out, new formations etc.
2. Brazil -1 Corner Handicap @ 11/8
Brazil will be pushing, and with Colombia’s quick-yet penetrable defence, I see Ospina making a few saves. There will be a lot of pressure inserted on the back four, and plenty of Brazil corners I believe!
Best of luck!
