So close to 2/2 again last night – Bayern -1 Corner @ 21/20 winning with ease (6-3) while the Cards bet looked lost for most of the game but then Atletico picked up 4 in quick succession, one short. They ended with four.
With the Champions League now on the back-burner until next week, attention turns to the enthralling battle that is the Europa League! There have been some fascinating ties so far, with all the games in the 1st leg(s) last week being BTTS, while most went over 2.5 goals too. Sparta Prague remain the plucky underdogs – that game looks a little too tense to get involved in, so sticking with a double on two of the other three games:
Liverpool vs Dortmund: Dortmund Win @ 7/5
With Klopp’s first return over, I think it will be back to business for Tuchel’s men. They are European hardened, and I believe will have too much power for Liverpool to deal with. The niceties are over, and with Liverpol’s often shakey back four and keeper, they will win this one and qualify for the semi finals.
With Hummels, Aubameyang, Reus, Mkhitaryan, Bender, Kagawa and more – I think it will be a step too far for the Reds, and the Germans will triumph. There really isn’t much to this – form is irrelevant and this is simply opinion!
Shakhtar vs Braga: Braga Over 4.5 Corners @ 6/5 (NAP)
Next Best: Over 10.5 Corners @ 1/1
This week I’ve only tipped 4 bets, and 3 of them have been corners. All three have won. The 4.5 mark has dropped to 3.5, so should you have not seen this in time for it, Over 10.5 Corners @ 1/1 is as good a bet!
This appeals to me, Braga that is – because they are 2-1 down and need goals. In the first leg they dominated and were unfortunate to lose in all reality. They racked up 7 corners and threatened for the whole 90. Even in Ukraine, which is no easy place to go – I think they will be on the counter attack, and with the home side having two away goals in the bag I feel early pressure and a need for a goal will force a few corners. I could look at league form until the sun goes down, but it’s meaningless. Both play in fairly poor leagues where, for one – Shakhtar are rarely challenged, and two – Braga are probably the 4th best side, and often get plenty of corners against most.
At this stage, stats go out the window and where I have fallen down over the last few months has been over-egging the stats. For this game, my gut says that Braga will be going for it, and will force corners. Let’s hope the line doesn’t move at all because Over 4.5 is a good number at a good price!
As a double this pays around 4.3/1 – both markets priced on Bet365.
Best of luck
