Very little on today other than the Europa League. There is a lot of South American football on, so there might be something from Sam for later tonight. Bar a couple, a lot of the games are finely poised and could go either way – they could be dull or full of goals. It’s up there with the most unpredictable of competitions!
On the cards, a couple of games I really like the look of – two that look sorted already and the teams looking to get back into it potentially weakened by the needs of their league:
Anderlecht vs Shakhtar: Shakhtar Win @ 13/8
I backed -1 Asian Handicap in the first leg and Shakhtar delivered in a 3-1 win. They looked the fresher side, with Anderlecht well into their season while the Ukrainian league has recently returned from a 3 month break. Same as the first leg, I believe Shakhtar will have too much firepower for the Belgians, and with them struggling in the Pro League I can see a few changes afoot and the league taking priority. Shakhtar to finish the job, @ 13/8.
Tottenham vs Dortmund: Dortmund Win @ 6/5
Same as above – Spurs are 5 points behind Leicester going into the final 8 games. With a 3-0 deficit against one of Europe’s finest in Borussia Dortmund, and the likes of Eriksen missing, Kane left as the only fit forward and the Internationals coming up – don’t think the Spurs lot will be up for this one. Much like Barcelona last night, I think Dortmund will play a strong side and try and finish it early. They ripped Spurs apart last week, and that memory won’t go away this quickly. A mental scared, Premier League title chasing Spurs to put out a weakened team and lose. Dortmund to dominate and win well.
I quite like the look of Liverpool @ 19/10, but with both themselves and Man Utd performing in a manner that could see either concede a few, and both missing players through injury – it’s too risky to put my mark on.
The duo above pays around the 4/1 mark, if not a little higher.
Best of luck
