Football Tips: Europa League Qualifying // 25.07.18

We had a mixed World Cup – getting plenty in the Group Preview’s correct, but didn’t manage to string together a winning accumulator. We ended with 5/6 on the Banker, with Iran’s spawny win over Morocco costing me around £500 as I had £20 on it!

During the tournament there were a lot of shocks, the closest we got was 3/4 on a 30/1 4-Fold, Croatia failing to score 2 in 90 minutes vs Russia the only to lose.

Anyway – to the first tips of the new season – the Europa League qualifying rounds. I’ve picked a mix of BTTS bets, and Over 2.5 Goals – for a 39/1 starter.

All on Thursday, between 1700 and 1945:

Balzan vs Slovan Bratislava: Over 2.5 Goals @ 4/5 (1700 KO)

Jagiellonia vs Rio Ave: BTTS @ 10/11 (1820 KO)

Nordsjaelland vs AIK: BTTS @ 4/6 (1845 KO)

Gornik Zabre vs Trencin: Over 2.5 Goals @ 5/4 (1900 KO)

Zeljeznicar vs Apollon: BTTS @ 5/6 (1930 KO)

Dundalk vs AEK Lanarca: BTTS @ 5/6 (1945 KO)

A good mix of games between closely matched sides. The least of which is Balzan vs Slovan Bratislava – the away side the much better team although the home side scored 6 in their previous round against a Milsami side that achieved good things in this tournament last season. They have played numerous better opposition in pre-season and scored in all of them, but usually conceded plenty.

The other Over 2.5 Goals bet included is another Slovakian side – Trencin vs Gornik, both of whom scored heavily last season and conceded nearly as many. I fancy it to be a very open game, with both scoring. 5/4 is very overpriced!

All of the BTTS games are fairly evenly matched. Dundalk and Zeljeznicar and handy at home and score plenty whilst their opposition, Apollon and AEK Lanarca are decent away and score for fun in their Cypriot league.

Nordsjaelland/AIK looks a very good game on paper, with both in good form and into their new seasons (AIK’s started a few months ago). Jagiellonia vs Rio Ave is the last – the Portuguese side poor away from home but in a better league than the Poles, who challenged Poznan and Legia for the title until the very last.

Best of luck
