Close but no cigar at the weekend – 4/6, with a red card in the SPAL vs Bologna game in the first 15 minutes ruining the bet for us. Otherwise it looked decent – 5 goals in the Admira, Trencin and Anderlecht games and 3 in the German game. Partizan was a loser as well, but by that point it was all but over thanks to the Italian game.
I’ve picked 6 games in the same market for the midweek period, ranging from Monday to Friday, with 3 coming on Wednesday. Nothing in the European games as I fear most of the CL games are too tight to call/already over, and the Europa ones simply hard to call as the first legs can be a bit tense which can lead to low scoring games, especially at the stage we are at now.
Anyway – my 6 games for this midweek period:
1. Sittard vs Maastricht: Over 2.5 Goals @ 4/6 (Monday, 1900 KO)
Although Sittard have gone 4 games without an over 2.5 goals game – they have a great record at home, with it standing at 11 over 2.5’s out of 13. When you then consider Maastricht’s record of 18 over 2.5’s out of 26, it’s a go’er at 4/6!
2. Nacional vs Porto B: Over 2.5 Goals @ 5/6 (Wednesday, 1500 KO)
Porto B are a side I always look out for. Full of the talents that no doubt will one day play for the main team – and it shows. 18/8 record for over 2.5 goals, scoring 40 and conceding over 30. Given Nacional are heavy favourites for this tie, you wouldn’t think Porto were ahead in the table! Nacional have had an average season but are recovering. The plus point for this bet is that they have scored 31 in 13 home games.
3. Strasbourg vs Monaco: Over 2.5 Goals @ 4/6 (Friday, 1900 KO)
Finally, Friday’s game. Strasbourg have an 18/10 record, 9/5 at home for over 2.5 goals. They played 2 consecutive games against PSG and scored 4 goals, winning 2-1 in the league and losing 4-2 in the cup. In their past 10 home games they have only failed to score twice, but have won 6 times. Monaco, on the other hand, have been conceding a lot of goals! 3-3 draw with Toulouse last weekend, and even when they win well they still concede a couple. This is a game where either side could feasibly win, but there should easily be 3 goals or more!
4. Wehen vs Lotte: Over 2.5 Goals @ 4/5 (Tuesday, 1800 KO)
When are doing quite well, and despite their overall record of around 55%, and a 7/6 home record, they have scored 31 goals at home – and when you are playing a team like Lotte who can concede 3+ on any given day, like they have quite often – it’s worth the risk. Lotte have a record of 9 out of 14 away, 4 in a row away and like mentioned, concede a lot!
5. Leeds vs Wolves: Over 2.5 Goals @ 5/4 (Wednesday, 1945 KO)
This one is a bit more opinion based. Wolves have an average away record and have not been playing well of late. Leeds have the best Over 2.5 record in the league, but a poor defence which has obviously contributed to this. Add in Wolves players like Costa, Cavalieri, Neves and many more – you have an attacking side capable of scoring 5 on any given day, playing a team who struggle defensively at the best of times. 5/4 a cracking price!
6. Adana Demirspor vs Denizlispor: Over 2.5 Goals @ 10/11 (Wednesday, 1300 KO)
A battle for relegation, a plausible 6-pointer! 2 of the bottom 4 go into battle, but will there be goals? I think so. Adana have a 9/3 home record in this market (75%) while Denizlispor have a 7/5 away record, but can concede heavily. Both will see this as a chance to gain three points, so it should be an open game.
Split amongst the week – a 38/1 6-Fold Accumulator. Fairly limited football on, but I’ve picked these 6 with confidence! Once again they are numbered in terms of favoured to least favoured for anyone looking to pick n’ Mix.
Best of luck
