Agonisingly close to a 50/1+ winner on the weekend – 5/6, with just Gornik-Plock falling a goal short in a 1-1 draw. Other than that, Anderlecht-Kortrijk ended 4-1, Jena-Sonnenhof finished 3-2, Zagreb-Zapresic ended 4-0, HJK-Honka ended 2-1 as did Sparta-Jablonec…
Easy to say, whilst sat at Centre Parcs I was fuming!
For the midweek acca, we move back to the European football with two Champions League ties on Wednesday and four Europa League ties on Thursday. All have legs in, all had over 2.5 goals in the first leg(s) and both teams have something to play for – either protecting a narrow lead or chasing a 1/2 goal deficit.
Up around the 50/1 mark again:
Rosenborg vs Celtic: Over 2.5 Goals @ 19/20 (1-3 Agg, Wednesday)
Celtic have a two goal lead, and looked much the better side in the first leg. However, Rosenborg are certainly better at home and have a point to prove under their relatively new coach. I fully expect both to score, but its weather the Celtic defence holds tight and their forwards are lethal enough.
Basel vs PAOK: Over 2.5 Goals @ 9/10 (1-2, Wednesday)
PAOK take a lead into this after a dominant performance at home, where Basel scored from their only shot on goal. However, at home – a difference proposition. With Valentin Stocker back at Basel, Oberlin a dangerous youngster (as well as Ajeti) and Ricky Van Wolfswinkel potentially starting, you have an attack capable of 3+ goals, as well as PAOK having Alexandr Prijovic who is lethal. In Leo Matos and Vieirinha they also have excellent full backs who will be bombing down the wings at every opportunity!
Lincoln Red Imps vs TNS: Over 2.5 Goals @ 19/20 (1-2, Thursday)
This was a very even game in Wales last Thursday, with both sides having a lot of chances. Another game I think both will score in, just a case of hopefully having 3 or more goals in it as well.
Asteras vs Hibernian: Over 2.5 Goals @ 17/20 (2-3, Thursday)
This one ended 3-2 to Hibs last week, and with both looking defensively frail but offensively decent – it should hopefully go the same way. Further to add, Hibs conceded 4 to Runavik in the previous away leg of the last round, indicating their defence is really quite poor.
Sarpsborg vs St Gallen: Over 2.5 Goals @ 19/20 (1-2, Thursday)
Very even game first time round, even though St Gallen were down to 10 men for nearly 90 minutes and somehow won! Sarpsborg got the all important away goal but will be concerned that they could not beat a side with a man short for the whole game!
Atromitos v Brest: Over 2.5 Goals @ 19/20 (3-4, Thursday)
Another cracking game last week – a pure goal-fest! Greek teams, nor Belarusian are renowned for high scoring games, but this one was full of them! Brest were infact 4-0 up at one stage, around 60 minutes – but Atromitos eeked out 3 late goals to make it a tie.
Best of luck!
