Good morning all!
Football is back! Thank the lord, as I was getting slowly fed up with all the qualifying rounds in the European competitions and smaller leagues. After doing a full Preview of the 92 football league clubs, I feel I have a good grasp of all the squads, and who will do well and who will struggle. The start of the season often brings overpriced odds as the bookies are not sure who is going to do well and who won’t, so the likes of Notts County today are 2/1 to win, when they are a better side than their opponent.
Here are my four tips for today:
1. Luton Town Win @ 7/5 vs Accrington Stanley (1500 KO, League Two)
Luton are 2nd favourite for the League Two title this season, and despite being a little apprehensive on their chances to start with, the signing of Craig Mackail-Smith has really boosted my confidence in them. At that level, he should be very good. Accrington have a below average squad, and are going to struggle this season. 7/5 looks a cracking price!
2. Derby Win @ 11/10 vs Bolton (1500 KO, Championship) – NAP
Derby have possibly the best squad in the league with the likes of Tom Ince, Darren Bent and so many others. Bolton’s squad looks decent on paper, but they struggled last season and have not added many good players into that squad. I’m expecting Derby to dominate this game and score a couple.
3. Notts County Draw No Bet @ 11/10 vs Stevenage (1500 KO, League Two)
Notts County have a terrific squad headed by an excellent, experienced coach. He won titles with Salzburg and has coached all over Europe, both as a manager and a coach. They have brought in the likes of Adam Campbell, as well as some experienced internationals that are now into their early 30’s. Stevenage have a few good young players, but I think the experience of Notts County will win this game. DNB makes this a little safer.
4. Peterborough Win @ 17/10 vs Rochdale (1500 KO, League One)
Peterborough have added wisely to their squad. Joe Gormley looks a cracking signing, while they still have the likes of Marcus Maddison, Conor Washington, Jon Taylor and Jack Collison. Rochdale have a decent squad, but I think Boro will have too much for them early in the season!
Price wise – 4 fold is 27/1, while the NAP is stated. Top two as a double is 4/1, the treble 10/1.
For me there is not any strong enough value in the Premier League, but I will be watching with great pleasure as it should be a very interesting day. Fantasy Football will start – so if you would like to enter click here…
Best of luck
