Another relatively quiet midweek period, with a little football on over the three days covered, and little else last night.
Once again it is FA Cup weekend, meaning a lack of action in the Premier League and Championship. There are still a fair few leagues around Europe that are still hibernating in their winter break, so the pickings are not what they will be in a few weeks.
To start the weekend off, I have picked out 8 games with a market included at odds of between 1/2 and around 4/6 to form a 45/1 accumulator that I feel is great value! Here are the 8 teams/markets, and the reason why:
Scunthorpe vs Port Value: Scunthorpe Win @ 1/2 (Saturday, 1500 KO)
Scunny are in good form, especially at home. 10 wins from 13, and facing a team like Port Vale who are set to lose their best keeper, as well as being in poor form – 1/2 looks solid.
Chelsea vs Brentford: Chelsea -1 Goal Handicap @ 8/15 (Saturday, 1500 KO)
Chelsea go into this game in the best position of any of the top 8 in England really. No European football to get prepared for, simply the league and cup. Conte is likely to rotate, with the likes of Willian and Batshuayi getting game time I can imagine. Brentford are poor away from home, without Hogan and quite frankly have little chance of getting a thing here.
Queen of the South vs Hibernian: Hibs Win @ 6/10 (Saturday, 1500 KO)
Hibs look in great Nic, and like Rangers should finally get their promotion back to the SPL this summer. Away from home they are very good, while QoS are fairly average all round. 4-0 last time out, not expecting the same but a comfortable Hibs win.
Lazio vs Chievo: Lazio Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 4/6 (Saturday, 1700 KO)
Lazio are in great home form – winning 8 of their last 10 home as well as scoring 2+ in 7. They face a Chievo side on the back of 5 losses in their last 6, and even without Immobile, they should score two.
Inter vs Pescara: Inter -1 Goal Handicap @ 8/13 (Saturday, 1945 KO)
Inter are on an impressive win streak at home – 9 in a row at the moment, and in a great position with no injuries. Pescara are missing multiple players this week, as well as losing 8 of their last 10 away games – and not winning one since the first game of the season!
Betis vs Barcelona: Barcelona -1 Goal Handicap @ 4/6 (Sunday, 1100 KO)
Barca need no reasoning – fantastic form, fantastic players. Betis, despite losing just two of their last 10 at home – have only really played Real Madrid in that spell, and lost 6-1. Just proves the uncompetitiveness of the La Liga!
Veria vs Olympiakos: Olympiakos -1 Goal Handicap @ 8/13 (Sunday, 1730 KO)
Same as above really – Olympiakos are a cut above the rest, players are so much better and since I last backed them they have won every game I believe! Veria are pretty poor – scraping around at the foot of the table. Last meet was a 6-0 thrashing – expecting a 2/3-0 win.
Kayserispor vs Fenerbache: Fenerbache Win @ 4/7 (Sunday, 1600 KO)
Kayserispor sit 2nd bottom in the table, and are in poor form. Fener aren’t quite what they once were, but have more than enough to overpower a side out of touch and looking like relegation certainties!
All in all this pays around the 45/1 mark – if you are struggling to find any of the handicaps a HT-FT bet is about the same value, while in the Lazio game the win is 1/2, slightly lower but the same result is expected…i.e a win.
Best of luck!
