Mixed day in the 2nd day of Champions League games – two wins and two losses, one of which was a joke as Real Madrid only managed a 2-0 win over 10 man Malmo, with over 20 shots and 70%+ possession! Man Utd-Wolfsburg BTTS + Overs came in nicely after about 50 minutes, while PSG-Shakhtar Over 9.5 corners was a little later than wanted, but 11 corners in total meant the bet landed. Lastly, Galatasaray tried taking a 1-0 lead and holding it for 60 minutes which epically failed, meaning they got thumped on corners 7-1.
Today was tempting to repeat the BTTS + Over 2.5 bet from two weeks ago, and although plenty of games looking decent for it I’ve decided not to as that to me is trying to chase former glory which 9 times out of 10 does not work! Four complete different games, with one 6pm and 3 8.05pm games:
1. Fenerbache Draw No Bet @ 1/1 vs Celtic (2005 KO – NAP)
Fenerbache truly have a staggering squad of players. From Diego, RVP, Nani, Denayer, Bruno Alves, Lazar Markovic, Simon Kjaer and many more – they really should dispose of Celtic who despite being in good form are in such a poor league it’s hard to take serious. 19/10 looks huge for the away win – but as always I’m after value and a little safety, so DNB looks great value @ 1/1!
Celtic have lost their central pairing from last season in Denayer, now at Galatasaray on loan – and Virgil Van Dijk who joined Southampton in the summer. They got an excellent result against Ajax in a 2-2 draw, but this time against a much more experienced side I don’t think they will get away with some of what they did in the Ajax game
2. Dortmund Win + Over 2.5 Match Goals @ 6/5 (2005 KO)
Dortmund are on an excellent run under new boss Thomas Tuchel – unbeaten in 14 games competitively and scoring a tonne of goals! However they are leaking them too – keeping a clean sheet in just 6/14. Hence why I think this bet has legs. Dortmund could easily score 3, and have done or more in 3 of their last 5 games away from home. Even against Odd, they went 3-0 down and won 4-3 and then smashed them 7-2. PAOK are in good form, and despite the 0-0 in their previous game with Gabala are very dangerous on the attack and could score one or two – but like Dortmund they let a few goals in.
This could go either way – hence why I’m skipping on HT-FT and Handicaps – my reviews tell me I’m not amazing at them, so sticking with something I tend to be good at!
3. Monaco-Tottenham BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 13/8 (1800 KO)
Monaco’s last three games against pretty average opponents have been 3-3, 2-3 and 3-2. Spurs have scored 4 vs Man City and although some minor changes are likely, they will field a strong team as will Monaco. Despite losing their star players, the replacements have been very good for them. Spurs have had 3 BTTS + Over 2.5’s in their last four games – which does point to a questionable defence, and the same goes for Monaco – with Abdennour and Kurzawa gone they are leaking plenty! 13/8 is a top price for what should be an open and even game.
4. Molde-Ajax BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 5/4 (2005 KO)
Molde have been in some crackers this season, with a 3-1 win over Fenerbache and a 3-3 draw with Dinamo Zagreb after being 3-0 down after 20 minutes. Other than those two, they played a lot of poor teams in qualifying so were never challenged in any way. Ajax are similar – with high scoring games so far vs Rapid (2-2 and 3-2) as well as a 2-2 draw with Celtic two weeks ago. Both are in weak leagues and are rarely given a good challenge, but Molde have been conceding the odd goals here and there to low rent opposition and with the pace of this young Ajax side, I feel it will be a good game with plenty of goals!
I like two doubles – 1 + 2 @ 3.4/1 as well as 3 + 4 @ 5/1, while the Accumulator pays 25/1 with Bet 365.
We love to hear from you guys on what we could improve on, and what we do well – so if you have a spare 5 minutes pop on over to Tipsters Review and give us a rate/review!
Best of luck
