We are into the next round of qualifying, and the odds start to look a little more attractive. There are some good matchups this week, and although most are still hideous in terms of what value lies in the few markets bookies are offering. I’ve found 2 match result-picks that I really like:
1. Astra Win @ 1/1 vs Inverness (1945 KO, NAP)
Astra reached the group stages last season after an incredible win over Lyon – and although they were beaten soundly a few times, they stuck in there are did get a couple of good results. With the issues in the Romanian league at the moment they were guaranteed a spot, as long as they finished in the top 8 as so many of the bigger clubs have filed for Bankruptcy. Anyway – they face an Inverness side who to me are very average, bordering on poor. They should win – Constantin Budescu is a great shout for a goalscorer if odds are out there. Expecting a fairly low scoring match.
2. Brondby Win @ 7/5 vs Beroe (1800 KO)
Brondby finished very well last season and should reach the group stage in all honesty. Beroe play in the rather poor Bulgarian league, so going off form is pretty pointless, as both seasons’ finished a month ago if not longer. Brondby certainly the stronger of the two, and should win.
3. Mlada Boleslav-Stromsgodset BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 23/20 (1800 KO)
Both of these are high scorers, with Stromsgodset having this result in 5 of their last 6 games. Mlada have not played competitively since the end of the Synot Liga in the Czech Republic, but have scored 13 in their last 4 friendlies. Nothing to go off really but they have played some decent opposition.
4. Lok Zagreb-PAOK BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/8 (1900 KO)
Both of these can score plenty, but the issue is conceding. PAOK have scored 7 in their last 2 friendlies (4 against Dnipro) but also conceded 5, and four against Bochum. In both legs in Zagreb’s first round match – this bet landed with Airbus scoring 3 goals over the 2 legs – and even before than BTTS + Over 2.5 has happened in 7 of Zagreb’s last 10 games.
1. Double – 2 + 3 @ 4.5/1
2. Treble – 1, 2 + 3 @ 10/1
3. Acca – All Four @ 24/1
The reason I have excluded Astra from the double – simply that if you backed them in a single and double and they lost – both bets go down. Back the single and double, and the latter two win – winnings!
The first two games’ prices are from Bet365, while the 2 BTTS + Ov’s prices are from William Hill as Bet365 have not listed a price yet – but hopefully should do very soon.
Best of luck
