Yesterday was decent – bar Grimsby having a shocker against newly-promoted Altrincham we were close. Both BTTS + Overs bets landed @ 5/4 and 13/10. Portsmouth dominated their match but failed to score, drawing 0-0.
Onto today – a couple of tips from the Champions League quals:
1. Rapid Vienna-Shakhtar BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/10 (1945 K0 – NAP)
Rapid’s last 6 games have all been BTTS + Over 2.5 Goals – both league and Champions League, including 4 and 5 goals thrillers against Ajax. Shakhtar, away from home – can be a little unpredictable. They have conceded plenty in the league against poorer teams, 2 vs Vorskla and one against Volyn. Equally they are very good, despite losing Costa and Adriano. I think Rapid and in particular Robert Beric will bag, while Shakhtar will be careful but should get an away goals. They dispatched of Fenerbache in the last round in a very tight game, but with Rapid’s questionable defence I believe both will score and it will end a similar score to the Ajax-Rapid games.
2. Skenderbeu-Dinamo Zagreb BTTS @ Evens (1945 KO)
Skenderbeu dispatched of Milsami in their last round of games, while Zagreb struggled past Molde after being 3-0 up in the 2nd leg, drawing 3-3. They have problems defending – conceding in 3 out of 4 ties so far including Fola, who are much poorer than Skenderbeu. I believe both will score, but possibly not over 2.5 goals as several of Zagreb’s recent games have ended 1-1. First leg’s can be tight, with both looking to make few mistakes. BTTS looks good to me @ 1/1.
3. Malmo-Celtic Over 10.5 Corners @ 11/10 (1945 KO)
I’m usually a fan of -1 or -2 Handicaps on corners, and have had two successful tips from 2 on Celtic corner bets so far in their two ties. -1 vs Stjarnan and Qarabag -1 in their last game – but this time although Malmo are on our list (for results) I think they will have plenty of corners, while Celtic should get 5-6 at least. They are a very good team, who despite the odd bad result win most games. Celtic lost both legs to Qarabag on corners, while beat Stjarnan in both legs – but they were different levels of opposition. Malmo-Salzburg had 27 corners over 2 legs (14 and 13) while their game vs Zalgris had 22 (9 and 13). I think it will be an end-to-end game, with both possibly scoring and a lot of corners!
The double pays around 3.2/1, the treble pays nearly 8/1.
Best of luck
