Yesterday looked so promising, but a poor showing from Forest and Vicenza drew 2-2 after missing a penalty and losing a man after a poor foul. Today looks good – a 35/1 4 Fold Accumulator, and an 17/2 single that I think looks good game:
1. Man Utd -1 Goal @ 13/5 vs Newcastle
As an NUFC fan – I can tell you they will take a battering, no matter how poor Utd are. The team have no togetherness, no fluency and just look awful – you have to feel for the likes of Krul, Janmaat and Sissoko, although even they have been dragged down by the rest. I foresee a 2 or 3-0 win.
2. Arsenal HT-FT @ 5/4 vs QPR
QPR have lost 3/5 home games recently, only scoring one goal – and that’s including FA Cup games. Arsenal are in good nic away from home, and should beat this side fairly easily. All but one of their recent wins against QPR have been to nil, but incase they concede late on – we think they will score a couple of early goals and hang on to the lead.
3. Werder Bremen Win @ 21/20 vs Bielefeld
We usually don’t touch Cup games with a barge pole – but this is too good value to turn down. Bremen are one of the form teams in the Bundesliga, and really should beat Bundesliga III side Bielefeld. This side are in good form, but are playing 3rd rate teams in the German equivalent of League 1 in England. Think of them as a Coventry or a Bradford – used to be in the top league but slipped down in recent years and yo-yo between II and III.
4. Salzburg -1 Goal @ 23/20 vs Admira Wacker
Salzburg may have lost a few players recently, but still have a conveyor belt of foreign and domestic talent coming through. Three of the last four meets between these two have ended in Salzburg winning by -1 or better. Form is a little irrelevant as they have only played a couple of games after their winter break.
The single mentioned is the following (with William Hill):
- Man Utd-Newcastle – Both Teams Not to Score + Over 2.5 Goals @ 17/2
This pretty much means either side to win 3-0 or better. I fancy Utd to dominate, and Rooney to bag a free kick or penalty, as the home side are very good at giving those away in stupid areas/situations. They lasted 30 seconds against City, and I’m not expecting any better in this match. Possibly no Cabella, only four fit defenders – Ryan Taylor vs Di Maria/Valencia – it may be a long night for the Toon Army!
Best of luck
