Alexandre Lacazette provided some decent value @ 3/1 FGS on what was an otherwise off-day for my picks on Sunday. Hopefully we’ll manage to replicate more of the former on Tuesday night when many of my games to watch come in the lower leagues of English football; carefully avoiding the very unpredictable cup football of late.
South Africa v Ghana
He’s back! Much of the media prior to the tournament had Algeria down as one of the tournament favourites, one of them even going so far as to say the team that beats Algeria will win the tournament! Well after grabbing the late winner in that game, let’s see how much truth there is in that! Asamoah Gyan A/T @ 17/10 is a fantastic shout if he can do it again against what I see as a much weaker South African side! Tokelo Rantie A/T @ 9/4 is still South Africa’s biggest threat in my eyes but this tournament has been so unpredictable to date so who knows what will happen!
Derby County v Blackburn Rovers
If Blackburn can push on from their 3-1 FA Cup win over a strong Swansea lineup then they could cause Derby some problems! With the usual suspect, Chris Martin under evens @ 19/20 A/T, there isn’t much value but FGS @ 7/2 provides a much better opportunity. Alternatively, Darren Bent A/T @ 13/10 may not be a bad shout either! He started alongside Martin in the 2-0 FA Cup win at home to Chesterfield and opened the scoring in the 20th minute. These two could be a force to be reckoned with!
As for Blackburn, Jordan Rhodes is really struggling to find the back of the net recently butRudy Gestede A/T @ 17/10 is a steal if he can replicate his goalscoring prowess like that against Swansea where he came off the bench!
Chesterfield v Crawley
Another one of my winners from the past and one of, if not still, the highest goalscorer in the country! Eoin Doyle provides no value @ 17/20 A/T but @ 10/3 FGS or 2+ @ 4/1 against a lowly and poor Crawley side, who have twice conceded four goals against Rochdale and Leyton Orient on their travels; Doyle could prove himself ready of a move up the leagues in this transfer window!
Millwall v Reading
To put it bluntly, Millwall are still very poor at home and don’t look much better away. Reading, whilst somewhat inconsistent, are in okay form and I fancy them to potentially grab a couple here. Left out in the cup against Cardiff and misfiring in a couple of weeks, Simon Cox is arguably not in the greatest form but A/T @ 13/8 against a lowly Millwall side, it could be a good time to get going again! Failing that, Nick Blackman A/T @ 19/10 is a good option if he starts as is Hal Robson-Kanu at the same price. To be honest, any of Reading’s attacking options look appealing in this game! Just check out the starting lineup before betting!
Chelsea v Liverpool
I was initially reluctant to tip anything in this game because of the unpredictability of lineups and what team Mourinho would field but after the Bradford game, I don’t think he’ll be taking many chances and wouldn’t be surprised to see a full strength lineup! For that reason, I think Eden Hazard @ 13/10 is a very good shout and may even chance it and say from the penalty spot but again, check the lineup on the day!
Double of the Day
I thought Lacazette and Tevez could have been my first success on the double the other day but unfortunately not thanks to Paul Pogba so I’m gonna try and play it a little safer this week and hopefully we have some luck! Quite simply, Eoin Doyle and Chris Martin A/T @ 3/1 or if he starts and you wanna risk it, Eden Hazard A/T as well @ 7/1!
Gyan A/T @ 17/10
Rantie A/T @ 9/4
Chris Martin FGS @ 7/2
Darren Bent A/T @ 13/10
Rudy Gestede A/T @ 17/10
Eoin Doyle FGS @ 10/3 or 2+ @ 4/1
Simon Cox A/T @ 13/8 however, Blackman & Robson-Kanu also good shouts @ 19/10depending on lineup
Eden Hazard @ 13/10
Double of the Day – Doyle & Martin A/T @ 3/1
Triple – Doyle, Martin & Hazard @ 7/1
Best of Luck,
