Morning all. Tis a beautiful day, and we see the first game in the Group Stages of both the Europa and Champions League, as well as a full fixture list in the Football League and Conference. As well as the tips very soon, we thought a small preview would be handy. Here is our view on the weeks’ games between now and thursday night:
There is not a lot of value under Evens for the two days games. Juve @ 1/7 is not value, and most others are around 2/7 or 2/9. We have gone with better value, evens or above.
Olympiakos vs At Madrid – a game Atletico are likely to win to nil. I would hazard a guess at 2/3-0. Evens is a good price just for the win, but Race to 2 Goals is currently 8/5!
Monaco vs Leverkusen – @ 5/4 Leverkusen are value. Monaco have lost several key players and look average at best. Again Race to 2 is at 8/5 – top value there from William Hill! We reckon again like Madrid, 2-0.
Maribor vs Lisbon – Lisbon have started poorly in the Portuguese Liga this season, and will be looking to do well now they are finally back. Race to 2 is 29/20, although I really like Win + BTTS @ 18/5 or Win + Over 2.5 Goals @ 21/10. Evens is the price for the basic win.
Bayern vs Man City – Bayern have lost several key players to injury, and although good on the attack, at the back they are looking vulnerable. They face Man City yet again in the Groups, and @ 4/1 we like City for this one. Under Pellegrini they seem to be a balanced team. One for a longshot Acca, or DNB possibly.
Benfica vs Zenit – The Russians have a ridiculously strong team. Rondon, Hulk, Arshavin, Kerzhakov, Garay (from Benfica ironically), Witsel and more. Benfica have lost 3/4 key players this summer including Markovic and Rodrigo, as well as Andre Gomes. 3/1 for Zenit is a huge price, but one we like!
Roma vs CSKA – 4/7 is a bit short for the win, CSKA are a good team and could surprise a few. We like BTTS + Win for Roma @ 14/5.
Ajax vs PSG – @ 3/4, the PSG win is decent value, but we want better! Ajax have a decent team, and I think will bag a goal. BTTS + PSG Win is 5/2, or if you don’t think Ajax will score but PSG will bag a few, Win + Over 2.5 Goals is 9/4.
Not a lot of value kicking about, most of the home sides are favourites, but there is something to be had.
Karabagh vs St Etienne – The French side are 21/20, which for us is great value. The home side put up more than a good fight in their qualifying game, can’t remember who they played though, only that they did well.
Dnipro vs Inter – Milan have a very strong squad – they demolished Sassuolo without many key players Sunday, the likes of Palacio were on the bench. 17/10 is great value for an Inter win, Race to 2 is over 2/1. Dnipro are a good side, but you would fancy Inter to grab the points.
Rio Ave vs Dynamo Kyiv – from one Ukrainian side to another, Kyiv are a strong side. Rio Ave are struggling in Portugal at the moment, and we expect their league campaign to take precedent. 23/20 is the price for an away win, which is our pick.
Metalist vs Trabzonspor – yet another Ukrainian side – Metalist lost their key striker to Rubin Kazan in January, and have not looked the same since. Trabzonspor are a very good little team, similar to Besiktas. 21/10 represent risk, DNB is available at around Evens.
Liege vs Rijeka – Liege are at sea currently, losing a lot of games (Oostende won 4-2 on the weekend) – they are a shadow of the team, with mistrust behind the scenes after Ezekiel and Batshuayi were sold off for peanuts. Rijeka are, along with Zagreb and Hadjuk Split, the best teams in Croatia. Very good side, technical and play good football. 13/5 is a great price against a poor Liege side.
Everton vs Wolfsburg – It’s been a few years since Everton were in Europe, and the same goes for Wolfsburg. After a few astute buys, VFL are one of the best sides in the Bundesliga. 9/4 against an Everton side who could be taking the PL more seriously and giving fringe players a chance is value. One for our outsider 125/1 acca.
We have done a S-4 Fold, with Spurs, Salzburg, Sevilla and Steaua Bucharest. All four are favourites, playing the likes of Partizan, Celtic. All around 1/2 to win. No need to go through each one individually.
These are just four picks for this evening, being very careful:
Blackpool vs Watford – The Hornets are in good form and despite losing to Charlton on the weekend should win. Evens represents great value!
Colchester vs Sheff Utd – The Blades are midway up the table, and face a Colchester side in poor form. 13/10 again cracking value.
Cheltenham vs Southend – the Robins are in the top 3, and unbeaten at home. Southend are not in too bad a’ form, but away from home get no better than the odd win, mainly drawing or losing. 17/10 is a great price.
Wimbledon vs Burton – The away side are top at the moment, and in great form. Wimbledon had a good start but have fallen away a little. 6/4 brilliant value for the win.
That’s all from us in terms of the Preview, Tips will be up very shortly!
