This weekend’s Premier League Preview will be rather brief as I am about to travel to Yorkshire, and a place where there is no signal at all!
In the midweek games, there was a good day Tuesday and then a not-so good day Wednesday…games in this league are unpredictable!
Anyway – onto this weekend:
Tottenham vs Arsenal
This one could decide who battles Leicester for the title. A draw for both is useless, and could put both even further behind! Tottenham will be the favourites with Cech and Koscielny both out injured, and with Sanchez’ admission that they lack the gonads to win titles, Spurs should see weakness and win this for me. Spurs Win @ 7/5 a good bet.
Chelsea vs Stoke
Chelsea have gained form of late, and with that confidence. Stoke however are a dangerous side and have beaten the leagues best this season. I can’t pick a winner in this, but for certain I fancy BTTS @ 19/20
Everton vs West Ham
Both of these are in good form, and West Ham are not far off the top four! Everton are good at home, but are still conceding regularly. West Ham are certainly a side that are good one week, and poor the next. They beat Tottenham in the week, while Everton beat Villa. I see a good game, and BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/10.
Man City vs Aston Villa
This one features in my main tips for today – and with City needing a win to keep up with the need for points and a top four place, teamed with Villa being rankly out of form, I see a big win. -2 Goals is priced @ 11/10 which is value since City won 4-0 in January.
Newcastle vs Bournemouth
Newcastle are very poor, and loss here would more than likely spell the end of Steve Macca’s managing career. He has spend over £80m, and made a very poor team. Home form is what is going to keep them up, but Bournemouth are on the rise and know an early goal will demoralise this Newcastle side. I fancy Bournemouth to win @ 9/5
Southampton vs Sunderland
Southampton have just had their 6-clean-sheet in a row run ended, twice in the last week. Sunderland are dangerous, but away from home they are pretty poor. Long and Austin both miss out, but that Mane and Pelle have more than enough quality to penetrate a defences shelling out goals. -1 Asian Handicap @ 5/4 a good bet.
Swansea vs Norwich
Norwich are back in the bottom three, and have lost 9 of their last 10 away games. Swansea have improved and pulled away from the bottom 3 in recent weeks, and for me should have more than enough to beat another defence that is shelling out goals. Swansea win @ 21/20
Watford vs Leicester
Leicester have really got away with things in the last two games – scoring late on against Norwich to win 1-0 and then drawing 2-2 with WBA. With Spurs and Arsenal playing today, they know one team will fall further behind if they win, or even draw. Watford are good at home, but either win or lose. Ranieri will have them up for this today, and with Watford pretty much safe I see the Leicester winning @ 17/10
WBA vs Man Utd
United have won four on the spin, and with Martial and Rashford rotating in attack, I think Man Utd will win this one. WBA are a decent outfit, and even with Rondon seemingly in form, a youthful Man Utd @ 1/1 should win this one for.
Palace vs Liverpool
Liverpool beat City in midweek, while Palace are in dreadful form. This is one that Liverpool would typically lose, but with Palace so out of form, I think Liverpool will win this one quite easily @ 11/10
Accumulator wise – I am going to keep it simple this week. Match result, four games:
- Bournemouth Win @ 9/5
- Leicester Win @ 17/10
- Swansea Win @ 21/20
- Man Utd Win @ 1/1
Pays around 30/1 thanks to the two bigger prices at the top! Adding Liverpool and Spurs would total over 150/1!
Best of luck
